ОтветитьI'm Old but I love your shit. It's never too old to learn new stuff. .shhhh don't tell my grandchildren
ОтветитьA couple of questions from a non science person.
How much brain does an animal need to sense, pursue, isolate, and prey on a victim; socialize; identify and isolate a mate, spawn offspring, and die? A tarantula wasp doesn't seem to need much brain to accomplish all those tasks in a timely manner. As for "higher" animals- frogs are pretty simple, but they can do all those things well enough to perpetrate existence over half a billion years.
My question is: what has subsequent brain evolution (and the large increase of nutritional energy evolved brains need) done for predation? Brains are a lot more complex in more modern lineages, like dinosaurs/birds and mammals. All of these have brains much more complex than those of frogs . . . let alone those of Great White Sharks and crocodiles; both of which do pretty well for themselves* until men with firearms/harpoons move into the neighborhood.
Evolution as a doctrine does not have a "why" but natural selection does. What purpose does a larger, or more complex, brain serve? Predators can already do everything necessary- why add "needless" complexity?
* Heck- alligators can estivate through cold and/or dry spells; what's up with that?
Your channel popped up on my recommendation and i'm glad it did!🦕🦕
ОтветитьAm I tripping or did she mention the humming bird 4 months ago
ОтветитьLindsay, you are absolutely incredible! I'm an art student but sharks and marine stuff is just a hyperfixation I have and I listen to anything and everything. That's how I was pulled into your channel and I just want to let you know you're goddamn amazing and you help me focus on my work, which I have a lot of trouble doing ❤❤❤
ОтветитьI missed the graphic, "Average Cretacous City" last time. Comedy gold.
ОтветитьYo, Bill and Ted!
ОтветитьLindsay shoud also have a 5/5 star rating like miniminuteman
ОтветитьI think I found my new best friend. Lindsey I love the way you talk.

ОтветитьWoah bisexuals when did we land on the moth? I might be pan after all
Ответитьin this moment shirt spotted!! <3
ОтветитьDefinitely saw a cool bird today! It might have been a crow. Maybe a raven? A Craven?!? Love the channel Lindsay, thank you for the content!!
ОтветитьJust some personal and biased feedback about video length (not quality, you rock). I'm never going to make it through 3h of content. If you're breaking it down into sections anyway releasing each section individually (with a recommendation to go back to the prior ones first) might increase your overall views and watch time. I love this content but I usually end up watching 15-30 minutes at a time, tell myself I'm going to come back later, then forget to come back later.
ОтветитьHummingbird: a dinosaur cosplaying as a bumblebee.
