And let's not forget trains, diesel electric is basically a hybrid and dates to 1925
ОтветитьIt's funny how early vehicles were hybrid because the engines they had were weak so they had to use them at peak efficiency
ОтветитьThat Canadian sense of humor is just priceless. 😂
Much love and blessings to all ❤
Stay safe and be kind 🙏
Don’t forget the Maus, which had the same speed in reverse as forward, and weighed 188 tons.
ОтветитьYep. Porche was 80 years ahead of his time. And it shows 'cause the Tiger(P) and Elephant sucked dingaling 😂
ОтветитьI DIDN'T KNOW THE PORSCHE TIGER WAS A HYBRID!
ОтветитьFinally: a Canadian that doesn’t give a shit about French (as they should)
Ответить“….don’t mention Zee war”
ОтветитьPorshe tiger my beloved, also it went same speed forwards and backwards
ОтветитьThe Porsche tiger was a piece of shit tho, the engine would just explode
ОтветитьBro shows an image of the Elephant tank and the tiger, neither of which were good
ОтветитьI'll help you out, I leaned French in school for a month. It's pronounced Poo-gee-o-to. You're welcome!
ОтветитьI'd argue that simple diesel-electric isn't 'hybrid'. That's just a transmission. The hybrid is the two sources/stores of energy; diesel or battery. Diesel-electric or catenary-electric railway locos are also arguably hybrid, as are the submarines.
ОтветитьA much more impressive french diesel-electric vehicle is the char 2c, an absolutely massive 70 ton tank built in 1921.
ОтветитьMy mom has worked for ZF for 30 years and they are very proud of their history. I absolutely love how they put up a big timeline of their companies innovations every event they host. The best part is the entire section of 1933-1945 being entirely missing!😂
Ответитьtht would be PORCHUH with an UH thank you very much
ОтветитьThat made me laugh, thanks.
Ответить"Weird Porsche doesn't talk about it on their website" thanks, now I have Ramen broth in my nose.
ОтветитьPew-Jo is how you pronounce Peugeot.
ОтветитьWait. 600hp a motor or 600 combined. Because if it’s combined that is insane. Technology has come so far man.
ОтветитьAren't post coal trains hybrid powered?
Ответитьyeah, that tank isnt much to talk about. didnt get past the trails due to it catching fire
Ответитьpeauget can be read like pewsjoue sortof
ОтветитьDiesel electric tanks?? That’s brilliant! I wonder what else we can diesel electrify? 🤔 Planes? Trains? Siubmarines??
ОтветитьHey! My great grandfather commanded one of those! (Im not proud of my families history)
ОтветитьThe Porsche tiger was the worst tank of ww2 so unreliable good idea shit builders
ОтветитьThe Owen Electric is another hybrid car that pre-dates the Prius. Jay Leno has one.
ОтветитьThey dont talk sbout the tank because its bad PR to publicly point out you were building super weapons for thr Nazi war machine.
ОтветитьNew York in the early 1900s had electric cars around the city and a whole charging infrastructure while the men were at work the women went around shopping using these little Electric cars that were fully electric Electric these electric cars are not new news is a matter of fact the very first race car was 100% Electric
ОтветитьAlthough not an exact homophones Peugeot sounds a lot like: Pay Joe, or Poo Joe. I forget exactly.
ОтветитьThats the VK45.01P or better known as the Tiger P , what a beast of a hybrid!
ОтветитьVery cool!
ОтветитьThe EV actually came before ICE.
ОтветитьThey probably don't talk about it because it burned down in a field during it's trials, no other reason not to talk about it. None at all.
ОтветитьThe tank's drive train was a failure. Partially, that was due to shortages of both materials and skilled labor available when they were trying to build it and partiality because the technology just wasn't ready.
The combination of generator, transmission(which, on the small scale of a tank might be negligible, but mattered on the turbo-electric ships of the interwar period), transformer, and motor losses were simply too high compared to mechanical gear transmission losses, especially considering weight and complexity differences between the two.
But since then, improvements in mechanical gearbox technology have resulted in only moderate improvements to their efficiency while other advancements both in electical components themselves and in the computer technology to control them have significantly improved the efficiency of electrical systems, especially on the smaller scale of vehcile sized components and perhaps even more so in the mini scale realm of handheld tools and appliances.
lol it’s the fact you go out of your way slightly to shit on the French every time makes me so happy
ОтветитьAlmost seems they are trying to hide something. 😂
ОтветитьIt's pronounced Poo-zhoe and Por-sha .
ОтветитьInteresting , thank You
ОтветитьTbh it's not hybrid if it can't run from batteries with the engine turned off. Otherwise we'd call all bog standard diesel electric locomotives 'hybrid'.
Submarines, on the other hand, were true hybrid vessels. Able to run on diesel or on batteries.
Had a friend that used to restore morgan electric vehicles.
They were on to something back then
In fairness, that tank (on top of being evil) was also spectacularly unreliable. A textbook case of great ideas with terrible execution.
ОтветитьI wonder why VW never mentions who came up with the Beetle concept? Porsche engineered it, but who styled it‽
ОтветитьThe vehicle wasn't evil the people fighting against that vehicle were.
ОтветитьFanta Soda has left the chat.
Ответить'Don't mention the war'
ОтветитьCause the tank is a nazi vehicle it’s cool how companies like Porsche Mercedes and Volkswagen leave out their past their definitely wasn’t any tragedies in Germany or anything
ОтветитьI'm confused whether you simply chose to elide mentioning the batteries or if these "hybrids" didn't have any real electric storage capacity to them.
Ответитьthat thing caught fire so much
Ответитьit’s because it was a nazi tank
Ответить
