U are just like me, dropping things and murdering brushes! Btw u should just use odourless hairspray instead of wasting money on expensive fixative (it’s works the same) ... speaking of dropping things, have u ever dropped the homemade palette, since I just made mine and I’m not so sure it is safe using above a wood floor! It’s rly thin and I feel it would crack 😬😄 thanks for all the insight btw!

Im in art school and we are painting oil now, which ive never done before. its not so hard when you learn the basics. how to clean the brushes etc. But when going to my art supply store i get a little confused. i thought you couldnt use canvas for oil. but i saw canvas in the store, and it said for "acrylic and oil" painting. i thought u couldnt use the same for both. i thought oil required a special paper. Then water mixable oil also confuses me. haha

Lena (or anyone who knows,) what is the difference between Liquin and Galkyd? Or are they essentially the same thing just named differently by different brands. While I’m asking, what is the difference (besides the non-toxicity) between those 2 mediums and Gamblin’s solvent-free gel medium? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers. 😘

Be carefull with your kidneys and the solvents, the fumes are very dangerous over years of work.

I can’t paint without destroying all of my brushes lol

Here in our place we don't have an art store. All the art supplies are in the department store or the school supplies section and the materials are very limited! If they ever sell watercolors in tubes, it would be a miracle. We don't have oil paints and the brushes are really BAD (well not all) we don't have palette knives so pretty much I order all my stuff online and I find it very hard especially when they take A LONG TIME to arrive. I'm still 13 so I still rely on my parents for money to buy my art supplies but I'm very glad they support me on art stuff. Anyways, the video is VERY helpful, thanks!!💓

Do you use the camera lucida? Please answer honestly. It's not a shame to use tools.
The camera lucida is a device used to help artists draw and render by superimposing an image of an object onto a drawing surface so that you can see the subject and drawing surface at the same time. It helps an artist sketch complicated passages of a drawing or even make a contour line drawing of objects.

I use Talens Rembrandt oil paint. A Dutch product and one of the best!

It's my first time to use oil painting and didn't know it would take time to dry. I had it on my sketchboon and now I can't close it coz I'm scarednit'll be ruined. I touch it after 2wks and still some color rubs on my hands. What can I do?

Hello Lena Danya. I am a biginner painter and drawer. I paint whit Pebeo oil and acrylic paints. I love them they are so beautifull and the colours are realy firbrant and the consistency of the oil and acrylic paints are just fantastic. I realy don,t want another oil or acrylic paint brand right now and the oil paint it cheap. I get a 200 ml tubes from Pebeo for 10,39 and the acrylic paints are 7,59 to 10 euro,s. I use walnut oil alkyd painting medium and i clean my brushes whit safflower oil. No smell,no dizzyness,no dangerous chemicals,pet friendly and child friendly and it cost less than gamblin products witch i can,t stand because there smell. Same go,s for the terpentine. Walnut oil and safflower oil saved my oil painting journey too. Now i can paint save. Pebeo is my favoriete oil paint. I love this budget brand. It saved my oil painting life. I only paint whit acrylic,s and oil paint and drawing pencils. I draw before i paint. I can,t seem to paint whit oil and acrylic paints. I need an under drawing or a under sketch.
