This sounds like everyone. When you walk past a busy road you're breathing in the same as 6 cigarettes at once. which is why there is higher rates of lung cancer in cities.

How can I figure out what cleaning products will be non-toxic but ALSO actually clean my living spaces effectively? I’ve tried some green products and have gone back (unwillingly) to some of my previous chemical-laden options at some points just because I was missing an effective clean/disinfecting… without spending money to try and trial-and-error my way through (kinda really too poor for that), is there any way I can just know what to use?

What do you mean by "I still use shampoo?" I've decreased shampooing my hair and it feels alot better. WHY?

How about exposure (inhalation) in 1982 to aerosolized spray paints containing hexavalent chromium, lead, hexamethylene diisocyanate, and toluene? Some perfumes, adhesives, nail polish, and other substances trigger immediate coughing and headaches for me. My throat feels like it completely dries up and it takes me several minutes of coughing, almost choking, to recover. I also have concerns about memory loss and emotional stability, social isolation, irritability, and erectile dysfunction. I'm thinking of taking some allergen test for isocyanates. My general practitioner has no answers for me, so I need to find someone who specializes in exposure to these chemicals because I need a diagnosis. What kind of doctor should I be looking for?

This was useful to me because I’ve been ivertixified and down the past 20 years trying to figure out that breast implants, a gorgeous condo with mold, infections, operations, and MUCH more including money, friends and family, and now lyme and incredible stress and violence, which I am trying to remove from my house (ex and son who have mold in their home)… but almost 3 years is quite enough❣️🙏

My friend moved into a different home and ended up in emergency room with red eyes, swollen lips, fatigue pain etc they couldnt figure out why until they found crazy amount of mold behind the walls. She had zero anxiety depression or nervous system issues. Her husband and kids didnt have any symptoms. She moved out until the mold was cleared and room was completely redone. This is a primary example of mold exposure despite nervous system dysregulation

For many years, I was told that my sensitivity with toxic smells like perfume and other chemical scents, is a sign that my liver is not healthy, and also that my adrenals are fatigued, by several naturopaths. I don't have any anxiety, panic attacks, etc or any other physical symptoms that show up when I smell these toxic things, but I just hate it so much, and I'm always the first one to notice these chemical scents. So I'm definitely NOT numbed by these toxic scents. However, I do have a nervous system dysregulation (I have anxiety and other physical symptoms , not related to toxins and scents), and currently taking a second round of Smart Body Smart Mind. So I wonder if my hypersensitivity to toxic scents (without making me sick in any way) may be a sign of toxic build up in the liver and adrenal issues, rather than the other way round - which is that I'm able to sense what's toxic because my nervous system is regulated (which mine is not, however). Or I wonder if I just have this hypersensitivity simply because my life style is very clean, and when I smell chemicals, my body appropriately reacts to the scents, even if I do have nervous system issues in many other ways.

Hi Irene, Is it conceivable a high load of mold toxins be contributing to dysregulation? Do physical stessors like this activate the nervous system? I've been working so hard for years to regulate my nervous system. While I've had more success recently incorporating the somatic techniques you are teaching, it seems to me that a certain degree of activation is from the toxicity itself? I understand there is a big chicken and egg situation here.

I’m wondering is the alpha stim device enough to regulate the nervous system while using a brain training program? or should I be adding some sort of somatic?

I'm having this problem with my new apartment. It stinks. Some of my family members when they come visit don't notice it because they're probably functionally frozen but I'm really sensitive to this smell and it makes it hard to sleep, I feel the irritation in my throat and I signed a lease for a year. I don't know what to do. I can't stay here for a year with this issue.

It do some orienting and feel my body as well as feel the uncomfortable sensation. Its hard to connect to. But the sensations keep coming back always. I tried for months to release but they come back hours later.

Neck/shoulder tension Fluttery tight anxiety in my chest, nervous fear in my stomach. What can i do? I just cant seem to release it.

25 years ago, no doctors showed any signs of awareness that mold was anything more than an allergy.
You can read old newspaper stories of people getting sick in bad buildings and the confusion of doctors is clearly recorded.
The sick inhabitants could TELL doctors to look into mold and they would refuse, saying "Mold doesn't do that"

I was curious if the mold exposure discussion could also be that most people are living in dysregulation and can’t naturally get rid of toxins

Goodmorning Irene,

I would love to know what your thoughts are about sugar in relation to the nervoussystem. I consider sugar as a toxic as well and still I eat it more than I should.
I am learning about the nervous system and I am learning to regulate (with the help of a great coach) and are curious if there's a relation between sugar and the (disregulated) nervous system.

I recently found out that I've spend most of my life in the dorsal state (starting from being within the uterus) and am learning and practicing to build a healthy nervous system.

I know and feel that sugar is not good for my body (I am getting on weight which physically and mentally doesn't feel comfortable) and still I can't resist it. I often choose short-term satisfaction above long term health.

I think it has an influence on my ability to regulate proper and want to stop this unhealthy and sabotaging pattern.

I would appreciate your view on the relation between sugar and the nervous system.

Love,
Savannah 😘😘

10 years ago, I had a massive single exposure to black mold and as a result, became really sick for a few weeks. I did a lot of discharging and regulating my system but never completely recovered. Over the course of about a year, I developed a whole host of symptoms, like sleep apnea, unresolving weight gain, elevated cholesterol, GERDs, and generalized autoomic dysregulation. I eventually realized it was a mold issue, and used a mold clearing regimen for a few months to get back to normal. I was eventually able to resolve everything with a combination of SE, keto/fasting and specific supplements to absorb the biotoxins and replenish key nutrients that are depleted by metabolic stress. Glutathione was a miracle supplement at that time.
My biggest and most fascinating takeaway from that whole ordeal, was that my body seemed to experience the mold and biotoxins as a sort of victimizing invasion. I just had this unexplainable sense of victimization that gradually dissipated as I rid my body of the mold.
I think it's entirely possible that my body was experiencing its infiltration and colonization by the fungus, similary to the emotional victimization that someone experiences from a home invasion.
Interestingly, there are many patients with chronic mold issues who never fully resolve their symptoms. Even with intensive treatment protocols, they never fully recover, or the mold consistently returns. The traditonal theory among mold specialists involves biofilms that allow fugus to forever remain lurking in the body. But I've actually come to conceptualize it as a much more fundamental issue of nervous system dysregulation. I believe that our unresolved emotional reactivity actually facilitates the existence of fungus and pathogens itself. In other words, many people who struggle with recalcitrant mold issues are ultimately dealing with unresolved psycho-emotional distress. Once they resolve the psycho-emotional distress, their metabolic profile has a chance to return to normal. This is because our psycho-emotional state is a metabolic profile. Our metabolic profile precipitates and facilitates the presence or absence of our microbiome. All the research illustrates this.

Chiken or egg? Im SBSM student. So is it first possible to rewire NS if we have many toxins in our body? Should someone be on regiment of diet while doing process on heling or is it possible to rewire first and after you feel whats bothering you? Ima asking the question here not on course, because it is topic of youre lecture. And I was wondering about cleansing protocols, like Anthony Williams who speaks about trauma in the scence of toxins that dissrupts conections between our NS pathways. And it is very hard to because you need a lot of suplements to take because you eat only unprocced food without meat, fats, salt. And I felt without energy to work, and move. So I wonder can NS stil be rewired even if someone is not on a regiment of clean diet. Btw I dont belive that there is organic food anywhere in the world because of polution of Earth, and it is not possible. It might be biofood, but organic, I mean drop of rain are fool of toxins also. Thanks
