Is it your job to build stuff like this? That seems a bit too sophisticated for a hobby craftsman.

The results you get never exceed the amount of planning which is done first. In any project with size limitations and possible access issues, nothing should be left for later (unless planned that way) and not the first bit of work should begin till the plans are final. This result shows excellent planning, and it's miles ahead of most van builds I've seen. The one thing I'd change is painting or sealing all the wood on all sides well after test-fitting before assembly. Condensation always happens in metal boxes exposed to nature and in time everything wood will not only rot, but raw wood absorbs odors like a sponge and you don't need that in the space you're living in. The only bare wood should be at glue joints which are self-sealing. Condensation and potential water ingression needs to be considered in insulation choice too; one round with soaking wet fiberglass insulation stinking will convince you if I don't.
