What part of Germany? I made the potato salad the other day and it was delicious. My son remarked that it seemed influenced by French cooking as cornichons and mayonnaise have very French roots. I usually make a “German” potato salad that is warm made with bacon, onion and cider vinegar.
ОтветитьLove this Anja!
ОтветитьLove your channel!!! You make so many great things!!!
ОтветитьThis is lovely Anja! but you know, I already love your channel! xo
ОтветитьLove your channel ❤️🇨🇦
ОтветитьWhat a lovely introduction! I appreciated the family backstory. I'm certain your dear grandparents would be pleased and proud to see you carry on with their organic ways. Such knowledge is indeed a valuable heritage. If I wasn't already subscribed, I'd sub again!
ОтветитьHi Anja. Love your channel!
ОтветитьYour channel has become one of my favorites, you are so authentic and kind. Very helpful information too!
Thank you Anja. ( greetings from Babcock Ranch Florida)
Hello! I look forward to watching more of your channel and learning. My ancestors on my mother's side were from Germany.
ОтветитьOh, this is so sweet! I have no German "genes" (that I know of) but have had many friends like you! 🌺 Sang with the Damenchor Harmonie and learned charming folk tunes (like Schwartzbraun ist die Hazelnus) and how to count to 100 in German Passed through Germany on my way to Switzerland on the overnight train, and got to see the cathedral lit up like a fairy tale in Cologne. On leaving the train in the morning, there was an oom-pa-pa band in lederhosen at the station - delighting everyone with such a nice greeting! You have a beautiful heritage, dear heart - it's wonderful how you cherish it. Blessings!
ОтветитьLiebe Anja, wunderschön finde ich deinen neuen Kanal Trailer!

ОтветитьIs your new Ilve range loud?
ОтветитьHi there, thanks for this lovely video=brought back so many memories. I am German and moved here 20yrs ago and I miss my simple country life=grew up in a small town setting. I saw in your other video the whole grain bread you were baking=I used to make this kind of bread=I loved it, even my dog loved it when it was dry. I still incorporate some of the ways= minimizing waste, etc. turn off your lights when they are not needed. I am teaching my grandchildren the same thing.
ОтветитьWondering what area in Germany did you grow up ?
ОтветитьLoved this!
ОтветитьHello, I saw the sourdough starter and I thought well I’ll try again after 5 times what’s one more ☺️, hope I succeed this time 😊
ОтветитьHello there Anja, my name is Fran I live in N.C. I love the simplicity of your channel. Look forward to watching them all.❤
ОтветитьI honestly found you by what seemed like, "by accident", but as I am half German (on my mother's side), I have always wanted to get closer to my roots, and someday, visit Germany. My name is Liesel, and I live in very Southern California. I look forward to going through all of your videos to learn all that I can from you. God bless!
ОтветитьI saw you on farmhouse on Boone with Lisa and I’m so happy to watch your videos! Thank you for posting so much information! I’m 76 yrs old so I know all these old ways. They are certainly the best! I remember doing all these things , baking breads, home cooking, keeping bacon fat, rendering lard and tallow, canning tomatoes and peaches and other vegetables, hanging out the laundry and knowing the benefits of homemaking in a simpler way with my mother and Grandma! Btw, I too, love the sound of my China coffee cup touching the saucer and reusing my parchment paper! Such little things, but that sound warms my heart , for sure!
I would like to know more about how your grandparents survived the war in Germany, if you can talk about that. I would like you to do a house and garden tour. I loved the video of your setting your table and preparing for your friends coming to visit for coffee and cake. A lovely time!
May The Lord bless you, He has given you many talents and gifts
Sending big hugs from The Jersey Shore 🤗❤️
I'm Viviana! I subscribed!!
ОтветитьHi Anja. My name is Kathy. I live in Ohio. Most of my ancestry is German, having great grandparents that emigrated to the US in the late 1800s. I watched your Easter video and loved it. Can't wait to watch your other videos.
ОтветитьHi my name is Ema and live in Sweden🇸🇪 I started my sourdough some days ago without measurements and just with water and flour. I found that is much more exciting to learn about how it actually works in order to make the best of it rather than following a recipe. Now I discovered your channel and Im eager to learn more and become more self sufficient. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ✨️
ОтветитьHello there Anj, my name is Iva I live in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) and I watched your vlog about Quark cheese and loved. After, I decided tô see others. Congrats ❤
ОтветитьHi Anja, love the channel and the idea of a simpler life! Love from Sweden
ОтветитьHello Anna, I watched a sourdough starter video, and you answered so many questions! Thank you. My name is Elizabeth, and I live in California, USA🎀
ОтветитьAfter watching your interview with Tim Childers, I wanted to take a look at your channel. I'm Lorrie from Florida (USA). Being dairy/gluten/sugar free by necessity, I have to adapt recipes. I'm so glad Tim introduced you on his channel! 💐
ОтветитьHi
Could you help me please. I am following you recipe/video to make the German bread rolls. I followed it to the letter but unfortunately the finished result was uneatable.
I put the dough in the refrigerator overnight and it rose beautifully. I then split it into 8 rolls and put it on a baking tray in the oven with only the light for 2 hours and again they rose nicely. When I put the slit in the top they did sink slightly.
I then put them in a fan over at 200c for 2 sessions each of 10 minutes.
The rolls did not rise again and where hard on the outside and uncooked in the middle. - A very disappointing outcome.
I did vary from your instructions as I used a breadmaker to make the dough - Would this cause the problem?
The dough was a very slightly wet - - Would this cause the problem?
Was the oven to hot?
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated as I would like to get this right.
Many Thanks
Geoff Harvey
