yeah this is the one. won’t ever forget being on campus for both the heartbreak in ‘16 and the bounce back in ‘17. thank you Coach Williams and thank you Theo
ОтветитьCoach Williams is one of the greatest!
ОтветитьGreat Interview with the Great, Legendary, ICONIC, The 🐐 Roy Williams
ОтветитьCertain professions keep you young cause u constantly have fresh youth cycles coming thru your care, etc. All the old coaches, unless they were hit with a major illness look good for their age and seem physically more fit. I'm retired Navy, it's same for military cause there are always kids coming thru keeping you young at heart.
ОтветитьRoy Williams the GOAT? Don’t disrespect Dean Smith like that
ОтветитьBest interview all time!!!
ОтветитьTwo of my favorites!!
Ответить🐐
ОтветитьCoach Roy the GOAT!!!
ОтветитьMan I wish I was able to play for coach
ОтветитьBro is that THEO PINSON!?
ОтветитьTremendous! So much great info in there I didn't know about, like the 8,000 fans that showed up at Carmichael to watch the UNC JV when Roy Williams was on the team take on Duke's JV. Not surprised Roy didn't name his all-time starting UNC Five. Well done, Theo
ОтветитьTheo. One of my all-time favorite Tar Heels.
ОтветитьTheo keep up the great work good brotha
Ответитьlol shoutout to Drexel. We love you in Burke County Coach, always!
ОтветитьCoach Williams is a class act. Great Coach.
ОтветитьGreat interview! I remember watching the team the last year before Roy came back. Wes Miller was a walk on and Matt didn't play him much, but every time he was on the court, he'd hit at least one 3. I kept saying, why not play him more? What could it hurt? Roy comes in and Miller gets a scholarship, but at least his last year, he denies it so they could add another scholarship player. Obviously not a top player, but still one of my favorites.
ОтветитьBro dress up a Lil bit for coach
ОтветитьGo heels
Ответить-Coaches gave positive feedback, saying I could be the best, which gave me confidence and made me feel good about myself; i stayed longer than anyone else, working on it, and got better. I never wavered; I tried to make sure there was nobody, and there was not, that anybody outworked me or spent more time than me and everything fell into place. The more confidence you get makes you work harder and if you work harder you start playing better.; I tried to not be late for anything
ОтветитьAs a Texas Longhorn fan I have so much respect for Roy Williams. Coach Williams put together some damn good Kansas teams. He and Rick Barnes made that a rivalry worth watching once conference play started. Great get. ✊🏼
ОтветитьRoy is the man
ОтветитьYou know, coach Williams gave a great answer on that question. It's just tough because you can leave out twenty guys who could be on that list. I'm a fan who is now sixty six years old, so I can still remember great teams from as far back as 1967. So, I remember players like Bill Bunting, Rusty Clark and Larry Miller who was a great player. Then there was Charlie Scott and then Phil Ford and Walter Davis. But none of those great players won a national championship. Not until 1982 did Dean break through and win it all. If you pick five players someone else can pick five more that are just as good. But let's just say that you couldn't get away without picking. You absolutely had to pick five. Well, my first choice would be Phil Ford. I had the good fortune to see him play in high school. He was a generational player. I never saw Lenny Rosenbluth play. That was before my time. A lot of old timers would pick him. But from what I've heard he would be my center. Then James Worthy would be my power forward. That's three. Would Hansbrough be on that list? Isn't he still the all time leading scorer in ACC history? Then there's Jordan. Here's how I would construct the team. Lenny Rosenbluth at center. James Worthy and Tyler Hansbrough on the wing. Phil Ford and Michael Jordan as my guards. Phil Ford to handle the ball. Tell me who could beat that team?
ОтветитьNCAA rule change to make the game more interesting and add an element of strategy - limit the number of 3 point goals that count for 3 points 😎
ОтветитьI still can't get over the year he coached northcarolinatarheels in the tournament against Kansas and stop coaching!! Made unc lose.... it was like je wanted Kansas to win. Horrible
Ответитьthis is a great pod... love the work. Coach Williams has so much wisdom that everyone could learn from
ОтветитьAll time 5. PG Phil Ford, SG Michael Jordan, SF Lennie Rosenbluth, PF Antawn Jamison, C Tyler Hansbrough.
ОтветитьGreat interview. Coach's memory is still sharp as a tack. Thanks Theo and thanks Coach Williams. Go Heels!
Ответитьyou can't tell me Coach couldn't still be on the sidelines...
ОтветитьA great conversation. This is why UNC is such a great program!
ОтветитьLove you Coach!! You ight too, TP 👏
ОтветитьWe do bleed Carolina Blue over here sir
ОтветитьI like Hubert Davis so far he hasn't been caught with illegal players I assume his players attend class with passing grades unlike the previous coaches that go back eighteen years.
ОтветитьOur program is only relavant ever 6 yrs or so other programs are consistent unc needs a over haul get rid of the coach and staff and AD hire outside the program
ОтветитьRoy you are the man of all men! Thank you Coach
ОтветитьHe played on the same highschool basketball team with my uncle. TC Roberson
ОтветитьLove this man
ОтветитьI remember when we were recruiting Theo and at the dean dome he was doing the Austin Rivers shot in the same place and i was like f this guy i hope we dont get him but im so glad we did. Also loved his dunk vs F$U.
ОтветитьSo glad he didnt go to Indiana
ОтветитьRoy is a good storyteller, I always enjoy hearing him reminisce.
ОтветитьThis is a amazing interview 10/10🔥
ОтветитьTP, got me misty-eyed for 60 mins… love me some Coach Williams!
ОтветитьFound Theo's podcast just recently & this is a great one. Thanks for sharing a well presented conversation! I'm from Western NC, about 25 min from Drexel! About an hour from Roy's home town of Marion i grew up a HUGE fan of the organization. People complain about NIL & the transfer Portal and how its ruined colled ball. Well...off seasons used to be kinda boring. Id scout the incoming freshman, check the internet to see what the coaches and reporters are saying. But now, we get a little excitement via the portal lo Been a Heels fan and dressed in blues since day 1! I laterally came home from the hospital in a UNC outfit 😂 Random asf, anyways, good job Theo & thank you for your service and the ship lolol
ОтветитьTheo is one of my all time favorite UNC players. Great attitude and does it all
ОтветитьWe bleed mf Carolina blue over this bih frfr im straight outta Durham north Carolina fo sho and still a Unc fan I hate duke even tho I got my ties to them too see if u never lived here or not from here u will never understand the rivalry between these two schools mane frfr ifykyk that’s y it’s a mf honor to be a Unc fan 💯
ОтветитьIf James Worthy isn't in your top five UNC players, give it some thought.
ОтветитьThis is an important interview, I’m learning alot and the interview just started
ОтветитьFantastic. Love Roy. A legend. And Theo P did a beautiful job with this interview.
ОтветитьIt really is truly sad and pathetic that Lebron fans are trying to destroy MJ;s legacy and the era he played in and all because majority of people know MJ is the REAL GOAT and they cant handle it and it all starts with Lebron and klutch sports. Klutch sports has completely destroyed sports media with their complete bias towards Lebron. EVERYTHING has to be about Lebron, even after he gets eliminated.
