I have a Sony A77. Been using it for 6 years now. Anyway you can use the camera and see if you can get the best video quality out of it?

I can tell you right now, if you gave 90% of us companies 4k, there heads would explode. No one wants it here. The tv station I worked at could barely process 720p. Espn which i work for alot, is 75% 720p. Everything. They upscale it to 1080i if you like interlaced lol. 4k will never be a standard in the US until the companies break up, or go out of business. It'd cost almost a trillion dollars to upgrade that infrastructure, and they are never gonna spend it. I think the edit bays at the station would catch fire trying to play 4k. lol You wanna make a tv station happy? 422 10bit hd. they'll love that.

I mostly work on TV Broadcast audio. The standard I use is -24dBFs (+-2) with true peaks at -11. Recording at 24bit/48khz. Never had any reported problems with Tv stations.

Just an observation. There seems to be a reluctance by social commentators regarding Panasonic GH4 and 5 as if they are scared or threatened to admit it's tangible superiority. But I used Gh4 (now GH5) for a weekly TV shows until recently (only because the contract expired). You mention the EVA1, I havn't used it yet but the GH5 will eat the Sony FS7 for breakfast (I used both). The only "concern" for most pros is "35mm is a must for film" habit. However Panasonic (with it's 1.3 inch sensor) challenges Full frame Cameras simply with the GH5 Electronic transfer rates of 400 mb's (which is vital for 4K moving image)... AND NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THIS MOST ESSENTIAL ASPECT !........ Panasonic is the leader in 400mbs as well as many other pro specs not available of more expensive brands. Lumix were the first to give us touch screen/ swivel convenience (others still don't have this !), Here again it beats Canon/ Sony in many features such as '3-point Rack focus', 'after focus', 'sensor IBIS', 'Jello effect' to mention just a few. You mention Broadcast requirements, well the GH5 exceeds BBC broadcast levels many times over with 422, 10 bit, 60P AT 4K,\ 400mbS,
features that are still missing from the top canons, Fuji, Sony and Nikon, All of them were lagging behind Lumix in 4K as All of the non- Panasonic DSLR's still have that 'amateur' 30 minute time limits, So how come Panasonic has no such crippling issues? and why doesn't all of the above get a mention on these vlogs? I used Nikons and canon (film cameras) in the 80's at 6 times the price but they still sucks at pro-video environment in comparison. I ain't ashamed to to admit that Weather-sealed Panasonics (with f1.2 or f1.4 lenses) are highly qualified in commercial and broadcast Video realm because I am sure you agree that it's the lens, lighting and electronics that mater to a production quality.. despite it's 4k M43 sensor. . My trick is use Panasonic and deliver the finished product on Pro res and No one will detect that it's not RAW for most situations. I Save time and money. I just filmed an all day JAzz festival, impossible to achieve on a A Sony A7s2 or 3500 in Sydney's Hot summer without overheating. (This is just my observation, hope I didn't offend anyone :-)

It's a pleasure watching you and Lucasz's live stream shows. You guys always offer good advice and opinion, that I value on my digital journey. I find "Future Proofing" sound advice.

Before you went live, the static image showed a U-Haul. I don't know if you regularly use rental trucks, but it's a fantastic, inexpensive way to go. It's great to not have to maintain, fully insure, or store your own box truck. And like most other rental gear, you get a "freebie day" on Sunday - at least where I live, that is.

Tears and Flowers sounds really irritating when played in the background, the repetitive music and depressing voice just want to make me switch it off. Just a honest feedback.

Hello Can you please go over the topic of submitting films to the film festival world? There seems to be a lot involved with this process and it would be good to get a better and clearer understanding of how to do this. What exactly is involved? Would anyone else be interested in this? please comment below or give a thumbs up. Thanks Tom and Lukasz

Can you please make a video explaining how speedboosters like meta bones work? There's still so much confusion and people are claiming that their canon 50 f1.8 becomes a 35 f1.1 and stuff like that.

4k broadcasting is extremely rare. The vast majority of TV content is 1080 and street news gathering is still often in SD / DV. Japan (NHK of course) did trial in 8K. Standard 4K broadcast in europe should be in 2020~2021

FS7 is still a good camera in 2019. Meets Netflix production requirements. It can shoot RAW, but you need a $7,500 extension unit for that. S-Log is fine. But you have to take some time to study the camera and figure out its quirks.
