This is another position brought on by the pie-in-the-sky perception of California's leadership. EVs last only 8 years before they need new batteries. EVs that charge from stations connected to fossil fuel municipal power companies emit more carbon than internal combustion engine vehicles. This is because the city power companies are far less efficient at turning fossil fuel into electricity than internal combustion engines can turn it into motive power. Plus they first have to turn it into electricity, THEN motive power. Its final energy output reduced. Whereas gasoline just burns into motive power, no secondarily expended stage before the car moves. Both are bad, but with gasoline powered cars filters can be added to reduce/scrub exhaust emissions.

As someone who lives on a strict budget I can barely afford insurance and rent most time . At the current price of EV cars I couldn't afford to buy one . many other people are in the same position. The price to replace the battery alone would break me & other's in the same position. Most people live patcheck to paycheck.

What is the plan for transportation for people who dont have electric vehicle charging capasity? People in apartments? Low income people? What about the people getting to work? The grocery store? If California has poor air quality that affects people's health maybe they should move!

I don't think I will ever own an EV. That said, I do wonder about their reliability when most car makers can't build a truck engine that works in 2025.

It is just a way to keep those with less economic means from owning transportation in California. All citizens of the United States of America have a right to live anywhere within the states, work, and own a vehicle to get back and forth to these things.

The people of California should get together and file a law suite against the coalition for clean air and the State.
