I'd really like to see them make a load with this same velocity but with a solid. 2,000 fps from a handgun would be wicked awesome if it could penetrate tissue adequately. The ability to penetrate some soft armor doesn't hurt.

That's still pretty deep even if, it didn't go all the way through the backface deformation would still do a lot of internal damage.

I find because UHMWPE has such high strength (350,000psi) it can really take velocity. Which explains this video and why M193 doesn't penetrate but M855 does. Which brings me to my second point bullet composition or shape seem to penetrate UHMWPE like M855 or T6B or SS190 or 195LF if I'm not mistaken green tip 5.7.

it truly is a one shot ammo...if they keep moving with center mast head shot and light's out..are shot there ball's off.ither way the perp is out of business..i have this in all rounds they sale..great ammo..worth the price better to have and never use then need it and not have it...

Would you consider this a viable self defense round or just a fun novelty round?
I have a couple boxes but I've never actually loaded any into the carry mag, mostly just shooting at targets to test for function.

Out a longer barrel it chronies at 2600 fps, which would probably be just enough to defeat that plate.

You are shooting a BB very over powered, 40's will be shooting 160G 0r 180G, put a 65g in a 40 and see what it does

I LOVE my 10mm's!!! I'll be buying the new Sig P320 X10 their new 10mm!!! My favorite is my Springfield Elite 3.8 OSP 10mm its such a beautiful pistol, I have the bigger brother in a longer barrel, and I have the 16" Mech Tech barrel for the pistol lower to slap it on, AMAZING set up, video of some 10mm ball going through a 8×8 no problem! 10mm has been making a come back the last few years and with these short barrel compact pistols the 10 is really bringing up that speed where the 9mm loses a lot and SPEED KILLS! I have some 130 Underwood hollow points that EXPLODE on contact just shrapnel everywhere or go Extreme penetrators and they go through bullet proof glass with a longer barrel! If you don't own a 10mm you're missing out on a VERY fun, flat, powerful round and the recoil isnt bad for .357 magnum power since they designed it to be like the .357 magnum! The .40 super is a best too its a .45 necked down to a .40/10mm just like the .40 necked down to the 9mm and I can swap a .40 barrel, and .357 sig barrel in my 10mm pistols and literally shoot those ammos no mag or spring change! The 10mm is the most versitile caliber and pistol hands down!!! GET SOME!!!!

Silliness. Shoot that thing with some real power, the second armor. Hit it with a UW 200 gr JHP or HC and look at the cavity behind it. KE doesn't mean anything when you are looking for penetration and HITTING a target hard. It is like shooting rebar into a clay target. Take a 9 foot piece, and cut a three foot section off, so you have a 3' and 6' section. (I saw a guy on Reddit, Mech Eng, post this by the way), Shoot the 6 foot piece at a uniform clay target at 300 fps. Measure the depth of penetration. Shoot the 3 foot piece at the exact same target made with the same clay. You will find you get there at 600 fps, for the same penetration as the 6 foot at 300? Why? Same impulse delivered on the target material. That is your criteria for doing work on a target.
Look at your KE... (1/2 (3) (360,000))/64.4 and (1/2 (6) (90,000))/64.4...
The 3 foot section has twice the heat/energy potential in KE, but only penetrates the same. The impulsive load told you exactly what it would do...
So your 60 grain bullet to make the same impact impulse, and total volume of clay effected would need to be shot at 4,050 fps, compared to a 180 gr at 1,350 fps.
Simple Mechanics (Engineering Physics), Also Newton's third law of motion... Equal and opposite forces. From the same gun, a light recoil means a light hit. Compare that to a 200gr JHP at `1,300 fps, and twice the impulse. That Ole` Shot with the big recoil takes that impulse and delivers it to the target as useable work.

I have the 10mm and the 40sw but there is not info on the 40sw performance in IIIa armor I'm curious if it will make it as well
