What is the warranty on these? I keep seeing people like these but some are not lasting very long. So are they guaranteed very long?

For less money, the HiBrew H10B has similar size, PID, shot and steam timer, pressure gauge, decently strong steam and nice build quality. It's so much better than any Dedica, it's not even close.

The steaming feels like my office De'Longhi EC9355.M weak wand. Had a feeling its a faulty heater not heating properly though cus thats the case in mine and had to send it back for warranty.

@TomsCoffeeCorner - you sounded more positive when you reviewed the EC885, regarding the steam. Would you say that the steam has become worse on the EC890 (vs the EC885 and EC685), or are you just dissappointed that it hasnt become any better?

Get a dedicated milk frother thingy, perhaps?

Not sure why Delonghi wouldn't add a 3 way solenoid valve, non pressurized baskets. Optional Naked portafilters. Larger water tank!
Even their built in grinder espresso makers are just rediculus, can't even compete with breville, and targeting naive users.
It's sad that their amazing Dedica has potential, but those decision makers are not sensing what users want, or the way to move foreward.
Chinese makers are doing dual thermojets with dual pumps! yet here Delonghi doing wierd products with their giant capabilites. It's just rediculus.
Im saying this because my 1st espresso maker is Dedica EC685, and I loved it, but later upgraded to Italian espressi machines.

I think I'm still happy with my EC680 + Rancilio Silvia Steam Wand mod. As far as I understand, it works like a descaling mode for cold brew mode. I wish there was a way to dispense it from the group head instead of the steam wand, or the device could be programmed and this feature could be added.

Hi Tom, kann die schlechte Dampfleistung an dem Dampfrohrdurchmesser liegen? Möglicherweise wurde hier aus Kostengründen auf die bereits bei den teureren Delonghi Modellen verbauten Dampflanzen zurückgegriffen.

I have my Dedica Arte EC885 and it seems the same machine except the buttons, at least my Arte is steaming milk properly :D And also those buttons are not really good idea to be honest. Just seems to be trying to sell the same thing again.

This makes no sense. just do the espresso straight over ice. be better if they put a pore powerful heater get rid of the plastic in the brew group for metal and give proper temperature selection. this is e waste

i just upgraded from the ec685 to ec885 , and i have the same opinion on the steam wand's power , VERY VERY WEAK!

I got the Dedica Arte (EC 885) because of your videos and I love it, super fun machine for home baristas.....

Hey Tom, I still have the 680, so which one would you recommend today out of all the Dedicas? I was hoping to get a white one to match my D 54 grinder anyway and I wanted the longer slim or steam wand but with a good powerful steam wand pressure anyway so it looks like I’m gonna have to stick with the silver one for now still.

The only difference to the 885 is the wider base for "Duo" cups. The previous one also came with a tamper.
But for best experience you exchanged the baskets and tamper anyway.

I have had two dedicas; one stopped working after three years even though I was diligent in cleaning it. The second one did not work right out of the box. I won’t buy another Delonghi.

Tom, your production and video quality just getting higher and higher! Shame about that steam power, and I'm also not a fan of capacitive buttons. Oh and great looking Tsuyosa you got there!

Please review the machine. Briel has another model such as A1 and A3 machine. Please consider those machines as well.

Ich habe eine 885 und wollte mal den Drip Tray als Ersatzteil nachrüsten (weil ich genau wie du echte Knöpfe bevorzuge).

Ich habe DeLonghi direkt angeschrieben und darüber gefragt. Ihre Antwort war:
"Vielen Dank für Ihre Nachricht und Ihrer leidenschaftlichen Anfrage, jedoch müssen wir Ihnen mitteilen, dass die Abtropfschale der EC890 nicht auf die EC885 passt."

Jetzt haben sie mich wieder etwas verunsichert... passt es problemlos drauf? Und falls es passt, wie wäre etwa der Tassenabstand?

I think that you forgot to mention the Dedica Maestro, which is supposed to be the best dedica or am I wrong?

This December it will be 10 years since I bought my Dedica EC 680 – yes, 10 years! It still works very well, including the steam function. The new Dedica is a disgrace compared to my grandfather's model. It's a real shame that DeLonghi release such a poorly designed model. This must be a design flaw. I can't believe they mean this seriously.

I got the 890 because it's was the only one in white with a short delivery time. the 885 was showing a 7 months.
for some reason I just can't get the dispense time set. I press the icon until it starts to pre-infuse, then press the icon again once I reach 28 Seconds.
Then when I go to make the espresso, the machine forgets when to stop and I have to manually press the icon. Super confusing and yes annoying. I must be doing something wrong.
I'm also finding it hard to get that silky smooth milk consistency. I'm actually using 150ml and it'a a little easier to get the milk spinning but I still haven't got that silky smooth texture yet.

I'm actually considering buying this version over the 885. I just want a better cup of coffee then my current Nespresso machine does and the ice coffee sounds like a fun feature.

In video the new porta filter handle looks slightly higher to me than on the older Dedica models.
Does it fit a non-pressurized filter basket with no modifications now? Before you had to trim down the plastic inside or remove it to fit a non-pressurized basket.
