ОтветитьThe AAIB will do its job properly. People speculating about pilot error after a crash is normal. It is disappointing when other “expert” pilots who should know better do so prematurely with unwarranted certitude for 5 minutes of fame or clicks on social media.

ОтветитьThese pilots did all they could im sure we all know the rat was deployed that alone signifies a catastrophic failure also there is another 787 that had to turn back add that to what we know of the electrical problems in the past and to me it signifies that Boeing does not put quality first anymore which is no surprise. These days everything is about cutting corners to make more and more and more profit. You couldn't pay me enough to fly in a Boeing. Honestly everyone should boycott these airlines until they prove they are safe.

ОтветитьFrom what I've been watching and hearing in media - I feel it's Boeing that's being defamed. AI171 is the first 787D to have crashed. There are dozens of 787s safely transporting millions of passengers across the skies. But yeah Indian media and Indians (desi bhakts) in general have given out the verdict that there are issues with 787s. Fortunately a lot of globetrotters and aviation experts know that it's not true. Immediately there is news about a few of the 787s having glitches in the Indian media. Again, 787s with something to do with India ie either the carrier is Indian or the origin/destination is in India. 😄

ОтветитьMost of the recognised expert commentators are now stating pilot error is the least likely scenario. As the facts slowly emerge it is becoming clear that fault will either lie with the manufacturer Boeing or Air India the operator or a mixture of the two. The facts as we know so far are that V1 was reached (take off speed or take off rejection), the flaps were clearly in the right position for take off and that the RAT was deployed indicating a substantial electrical failure. So the plane was correctly configured for take off and in the 40 or so seconds the plane was in the air the pilots did not even have the time to make a mistake. If maintenance is found to be the issue Air India and Tata will have some questions to answer but they will improve and survive. If Boeing is found to be at fault this will be the bail of hay that broke the camel’s back. Boeing has run out of runway for any more failures. It will be essential that Boeing’s involvement in the investigation is monitored very closely as they have the most to loose with an adverse finding.

I think there has been tremendous discussion and speculation which is quite normal for a concerned world that is watching and knowing that the flight recorder results might still be weeks away. Several days of technical discussion may have brought to light a new failure path - Excessively hot conditions, loss of power, loss of hydraulics, contaminated fuel or gravity fed fuel that has a significant amount of air or air locked - combination of conditions leading to dual engine loss. Of course only the flight data will confirm the exact sequence of events but regardless this leads to catastrophic results particularly if the aircraft is close to the ground.
Those who are authorized to do so should verify the maintenance history and procedures Analyze every detail especially recent squawks. Verify that all airport maintenance and other procedures are being followed. This aircraft definitely had serious issues so check the issues raised in the past 10 or more flights. What is the qualification of Aircraft maintenance personnel - especially the people who are authorized to TOUCH the aircraft - the ones who provide fuel, what is the quality of the fuel, what is their track record? What is the qualification and training of the people that touched the aircraft providing repairs and maintenance. Why is Air India aircraft kept for long hours on the ground in hot climates with no AC? Is this a procedure? do they instruct their staff to reduce or eliminate AC? All clues are linked to both engine failures due to RAT implementation. So no Pilot error...not to forget they only had 30 seconds or maybe less....

At the same time Caption Steve put his theory based on limited video, another western pilot in his YT put out RAT theory because he had got original video. It's you Indian tabloid media who interviewed Captain Steve because his videos went viral. But he always put out disclaimer. When he got original video he changed his mind. You emotional GODI tabloid anchors are schizophrenic.

1. It may have been deliberate.
2. A result of lack of knowledge.
3. There’s a chance it could have been an unusual and rare abnormality.

These men are sadly not there to defend themselves, nor their honour. These men were there till the very end, they were the first ones to realise, the total and profound hopelessness of the situation.
I am just so angry and upset at the ridiculous and idiotic statements passed by some made up aviation experts, ‘showcased’ by some irresponsible, TRP hungry sections of the media.
These bigots should be skewered in public, for their insulting and profane judgement. What’s more infuriating is that, all this was happening, even before the voice recorder and black box was recovered and analysed.
These ‘experts’ could very well be a conduit for painting a false narrative and shifting the blame from the main culprit, Boeing. The portrayal, and the narrative needs to change from Air India/AI and shift to Boeing. Boeing and its chroniclers should be scrutinised and brought to justice. There is blood of many innocents on their hands!
Boeing will (as always) deny everything and try to blame its own mistakes on others! Typical USA!!!

ОтветитьThe US aviation world will be in very serious trouble if pilot error is not the cause of the Ahmedabad crash. Billions of dollars are at stake. In the past it was very easy for the west to control and manipulate and exploit Indian society. Fortunately Indians are no longer third world beggars who can be pushed around. Every effort will be made by the Boeing Corp, Washington, Seatlle, the White House, Donald Trump to gun for India specific shortcomings and issues. This is a public relations war which we must win.

ОтветитьSorry—-the pilot was kind of aware that he was not getting proper THRUST. That is why he was taxiing the plane FULL runway of 3.5 km. This is rare. NOT NORMAL. He was partially aware of this problem. Not of course 100%. In this situation he should have just ended flight right there. No need to discuss anything further. I am almost certain the black box is not going to reveal much because—-The plane was in the air for less than a minute.
