Perfume lets up play dress up whenever we want! Of course we love Halloween Mr.p
ОтветитьImmortelle Corse and The Wicker Man (the original)
ОтветитьI LOVE Encré Noir. IIt´s definetily my comfort scent. It always feels amazing to wear. I guess I'm ready for Halloween hehe
Ответить1740 - glad Ive got one of the original bottles. From Serge Lutens, you can't get more weird and gothic than De Profundis (I've got an old bell jar of it) - it's got all sorts of odd scents in it, . But one I love and wear all the time is Quality of Flesh by Homo Elegans, dank cigarettes, oil paint, and warm skin, quite extraordinary. I've also got an original bottle of the Absolue pour le soir - fantastic news of its return.
ОтветитьSuspiria is very disturbing. The old one .
Ответить1740 and Night of the Hunter
ОтветитьGive yourself some credit! You put just has much verve and insight into the Halloween episode as any other.
It’s camp well done! Just as valid as any other form.
Cheers! Thanks for the delightful episode!
No Black Knight by Bianchi!!??? On my skin it’s literally blood on oily steel.
ОтветитьLovely to see La Couche du Diable again. My favourite Serge of the more recent generations, I get really unsweetened dried fruits, wine, and resin mostly.
ОтветитьI am loving finishing a week at the mental health and justice coalface and tuning into something to chill out to. This cannot be any more horrific than the week I have had 😂 👻
ОтветитьNot a fan of horror movies, but have a connection to one of them: I lived in the US in the early 80s and the main woman who moved into The Amityville Horror house who all the films and books is about lived a few blocks away from our family.
Growing up the story absolutely scared the literal hell out of me!
And Mary Shelley who wrote Frankenstein is buried a few streets away from me in St Peter’s Church graveyard in Bournemouth. Her grave is so beautifully gothic.
This years Halloween perfume will be Bloody Wood from Liquides Imaginaires!!
So much fun! 😂 thanks for Indulging us Mr. P. Congratulations on the milestone!
ОтветитьMy fave for a Halloween chilly/foggy night is Chen by Serge Luten.
ОтветитьSorry for the misspelling...its Chene
ОтветитьI’m possessed by La Couche du Diable! Dried port and blood… yum! I reach for it when I need something reflective and when I need something outrageous. It is very comfortable playing both roles.
ОтветитьIm really enjoying imperial crown by thameen , spicy scent but unsure of a film 🎥 to connect it .
ОтветитьThe thumbnail from last year’s Halloween video was gold haha 😂
ОтветитьWhat you will pick of this Mr persolaise for a vampire 😊 Dracula type of costume: I have this idea
Ecrin de fumme serge lutens
Oud ispahan dior
Black orchid parfum
Chergui
I’m breaking my head 😂 that’s for the help and great video has always
I am grateful to be gainfully employed but darn it for missing the live all hallows eve persolaise scent fest 💀💀💀
ОтветитьCongratulations on the 25K! Absolutely love your channel but never get to tune into a live. Eden by Cacharel is one of the most unsettling perfumes I own. I foolishly wore it to bed a few weeks ago and had night terrors at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. On me it is an incredibly weird but also beautiful fragrance. Also No-5 but that is personal to me because the only time I had a paranormal experience - possibly a time slip - there was an overwhelming smell of No 5 (or maybe one of the copies from back in the day L'aimant, Je Reviens etc) which mysteriously manifested when it happened. A Chanel haunting!! :))
ОтветитьLoved this list! Glad to see how wearable some of these are! Le Lion would be my Halloween pick! The lion, the repeller of the evil spirits! 😈
ОтветитьWhat a fun video! I've always thought that Ormonde Woman had a somewhat dark undertone. It smells like a sexy forest witch. With that, 2 films I would recommend are The Witch (2015) and You Won't Be Alone (2022). The art direction in The Witch is wonderful. The film feels like stepping into a Rembrandt painting. It relies more on symbolism and tension building than gore. You Won't Be Alone is a bit philosophical. A witch in a perpetual state of existential crisis😆.
ОтветитьThe scariest horror movie I have ever seen is Wolf Creek based on a true story.
Nice list and speedy recovery
You MUST MUST see Only Lovers Left Alive. One of my all time favorite films. It's just beautiful and the music is amazing.
ОтветитьLove your admiration of film and fragrance together. Fun to think about.
ОтветитьRe the psychological horror film - the original "Haunting of Hill House", with Claire Bloom and Julie Harris. It was brilliant.
ОтветитьI also don't like horror films, but I do appreciate darkness in perfumery. 1740 has that tension between propiety/restraint and unhinged aggression. Several Serge Lutens could have fit as well as original Bat.
ОтветитьI'm over the moon about a new batch of Absolue Pour Le Soir. Maybe the only MFK I've feel absolutely compelled to buy at retail.
I find La Couche du Diable absolutely bog standard! Maybe I will wear it tomorrow (in our 87°F weather) and keep an eye on its contours. It has been moved to the cloche line now, unfortunately.
Frederic Malle Monsieur = The Crow...not a horror movie but a Halloween movie.
ОтветитьIf I have to choose one scent for Halloween night that would be Amouage Silver Oud..
ОтветитьFor me the best halloween fragrance has to be Amouage Myths Man, i did a review for it two days ago. Really underrated fragrance
ОтветитьToo much film talk, but I like the fragrance choices.
ОтветитьI agree with the individual saying that Encore Noir would be well represented by The Blair Witch Project due to the earthly peaty feeling. Vetiver in its deepest state reminds me of a forest that has been left untouched for ages.
ОтветитьThis theme often consists of the most interesting and exciting scents.
I like the list.
Sad that finding samples of Les Indemodables in the us is difficult especially the vanille havane oud edition.. I would love to pick it up but too afraid to blind buy.
Anyhow keep up the great work.
Can't believe you've not seen ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE! Would love, though, to have a perfume that goes with del Toro's SHAPE OF WATER -- that's a dare, Mr. Persolaise!
Ответитьyou should have a look at the Queens of Evil, a cult Italian horror from 1970 that is so bad and so beautifully filmed at the same time. it’s a mix of number of genres - vampire and ‘wrong turn’ and erotic with some adventurous montage! With a terrifying finale! I would be interested to hear which perfume you’d associate with?! 😮
QUEENS OF EVIL
aka Le regine; Il delitto del diavolo
I read somewhere that Florence Pugh is a fan of Chanel Coco Noir.
ОтветитьHaha I love the skull instead of the flowers:)))
ОтветитьThanks for the excellent list. I consider Nuit de bakelite one of the scariest fragrance bringing you through a nocturnal yet extravagant journey!
ОтветитьI am so glad that 1740 made the list ! I love it and quite a few Histoire de parfums fragrances. I don’t like Horror films per say ‘ I do love the Innocents ( based on the turn of the screw ) with my idol Deborah Kerr and its gothic and has sexual tension and may possibly suit 1740 . Poor things is definitely worth a watch.
ОтветитьVitriol d,oeillet by uncle serge is quite dark as I find carnation scents beautiful but also quite gothic .
ОтветитьLoved it, didn't disappoint! Peaked my curiosity all the more for the Sade and the Serge lutens Devil's bed, ty!
