Sorry for the poor advice (I hope this video isn't my fault,) I didn't realise the op wanted to store a backup for 20+ years. For that I'd consider using cassettes. Note: The UK data archive recommends to store at least two separate copies and to renew those copies every 2 to 5 years (to switch to new media etc.) They make no preference of media, yet IIRC, casestte backups last the longest.
ОтветитьSuch a cool video! I'm excited about the new series too. In that series, could you by any chance go into detail about how you set up the Raspberry Pi? I didn't even know you could install a screen on the Raspberry Pi. Wow
ОтветитьThis RPi QR system is probably the best solution I've found for paper backups. Looking forward to the BTC series :)
ОтветитьAs a privacy & security paranoid, I'm really excited to your bitcoin series.
ОтветитьYou look happy, excited, fresh and back to your goal! Wishing you all the best.
ОтветитьUsing non technical methods to improve security in the digital world is so interesting. Sometimes analog is the best approach.
ОтветитьWhat does L1 and L2 on the thumbnails mean?
ОтветитьThe best solution for data archival is LTO tape storage and that is what's actually used in the industry, even by the public cloud providers that offer cool and archive storage tiers. Just the good old tape libraries.
ОтветитьSun, there’s a way to encrypt and decrypt text with Gnupg, without creating an .asc file ?
ОтветитьLooking forward to the bitcoin series. Great work, Sun
ОтветитьIm watching this from my Raspi 4 just exited for the coming in depth tutorial :-)
ОтветитьGood luck for the future fam God bless you
ОтветитьAbsolutely love your channel! Please keep the videos coming.
ОтветитьAn laptop/computer harddrive has been an good option for me, but definitely not the long term you're talking about
ОтветитьHi Sun, great video. I would like to know what are your thoughts on the new M1 macs and the Big sur?
ОтветитьGreat video Sun. Ummm I have a question, what do you think about pCloud service. Do you recommend ?
Ответитьwhy did Sun post the video "fitting the box" and delete it afterwards?
ОтветитьHey Sun! Thanks for all the great, useful content. I just wanted to ask your thoughts on the My Sudo app as a potential aliasing tool. I would love to know your expert opinion on the service!
ОтветитьHi Sun, pls make a video about apple icloud privacy relay. (after u test it of coz) Is it worth paying 1$ a month or are there better alternatives that works similarly for no money?
ОтветитьWould love it if you made a privacy course, teaching us everything step by step. Would be down to pay if it is reasonably priced.
ОтветитьA similar system like the RPI QR in a Tails Key would be great.
Ответитьman the paper backups blew my mind
Ответитьdude what's your keyboard? that small one
ОтветитьHi,have you considered buying a case for that raspberry pi?
ОтветитьSo can rsync copy files even if the usb key isnt plugged in? Or do you plug it in and edit everything and it makes a mirror copy?
ОтветитьJust what i needed to know!
Thanks man!
If we have Movies, Videos and Music collection, can't we save them on Pendrives for longer time say 10 years or so?
ОтветитьCan you do a video on practical use of shamir secret sharing?
Ответитьcome on man, storage on a piece of paper?
Yeah the onlyyyyyyyyyyy file that will last a hundred years is my seed phrase. Bet.
Damnit lmao
So to avoid my sensitive data from getting bit rot I need to put my bitcoin wallet on paper. kek
ОтветитьLTO Tape Storage
Ответитьnot sure if that is still an issue but you should probably export your videos with bigger bitrate. This video feels a bit blocky
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you 💛
ОтветитьHello, Does an storage external HHD only powered up every 6 months have to be refreshed to another HHD every 3 to 5 years to prevent data loss? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
