Depending on where you are in Texas depends on your electric usage and water usage. In my town the average electric bill is around $200, the averahe water bill $80, and the average gas bill $60.

You say 60k is low for a teachers job?? Here in Belgium (Europe) i earn 24k/year as an IT Manager (3y experience).... while our prices are similar to yours. In my neighbourhood the houses start from 300k up to 450k for a regular house, nothing to fancy just basic, simple house. Internet is 80-140/m, gas & electricity about 250/m. Now my young friends (20- 28y) were forced to either live with their parents or with a group all together and share a lil apartment or become homeless. Thanks society for taking such good care of your future generation 👍

The idea that teacher salaries are low is bullshit. My wife made 62,000 as first year teacher. It’s fine up since then. Then you you have the fact that she has two months off in the summer. Then the almost three weeks off for Christmas. One week off for thanksgiving x one week off for spring break. Various three day weekends. Teachers get paid plenty.
