These Remainers are so stupid it defies belief, when even EU trade ministers are calling for the EU to join the CPTPP. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is a ray of light, shining in the faces of the EU and supranationalist armies of doom, daily talking down UK Plc, while never having the decency to read up on the constant societal upheavals rocking France, Germany or Holland and their farmers to name but a few. The EU is in terminal decline, even the former EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom accuses the EU of navel gazing and has since called for Brussels to apply to join CPTPP, and the UK now has a veto on that.

So the EU parlament is a dictatorship (elected by proportional rapresentative) but the hause of lord is totally fine.

Joining the CPTPP and having a trade deal with the EU are not mutually exclusive events. The CPTPP does not restrict, tax, or prohibit trade outside the group. Several of its members have trade deals with the EU – Canada, Mexico and Japan, for example.

Equally UK’s GDP increased from £2.24 trillion in 2019 to £2.49 trillion in 2022 an increase of 11% in current prices, unchanged when factoring inflation. So not a ‘4% hit’. Where does this suppossed 4 % come from?

To be fair, most if not all of the 'benefits' of Leaving were stated at different times by different people with various levels of stress and emphasis. In the end,most people voted with an imperfect grasp of what they were getting, stating 'sovereignty' with little understanding of what that actually means. Either way, in europe or in the cptpp, you get money, however, trade isnt really about trade. Its about influence. UK being in the cptpp and not europe means one thing. The UK have exhausted their strategic goals of influence in europe and are now branching out to new areas. This diplomatically is a good thing for the UK, as it will maintain its relevance.
