Everytime I think I have read a new authority on the benefits of a plant-based diet, there is someone whose knowledge and clear presentation tops all other nutritionists. Thank you Evita Ochel for confirming my belief in Veganism. Myles Omel
ОтветитьThank you so much... video is very helpful... I'm just in transition to the plant based diet so I'm constantly watching videos from anyone who posts them.. 🤗 so much to learn 😳
Ответитьexcellent!
ОтветитьHas anyone had exotic beans. I had winged beans & yard long beans, they're cool.
ОтветитьLove beans, I have just started eating them daily and I have so much energy! I just added small white navy beans to my morning smoothie! Cant wait to try it on my granddaughters! Love your video on beans and looking forward to becoming a regular listener! Thank you and God bless you! 💕
ОтветитьAfter 8 minutes, the speaker had not gotten to the point so I stopped watching.
ОтветитьHow about red beans bought in a jar
ОтветитьThis is so insightful! I am looking to change my mindset and my relationship with food so I cannot tell you how helpful this video is. I recently tried chick peas for the first time and I enjoyed the taste but I had some issues with chest burning and so on. Based on your explanations I can see my body needs a little more time to adjust... Thank you so much
ОтветитьWhat kind of beans should we eat?
ОтветитьWhat kind of fruit is good for my body?
ОтветитьWhat about gravy beans?
ОтветитьListening to this in the UK, where beans traditionally means runner beans (green), broad beans (fava ?) or baked beans (cannellini beans in tomato sauce ?) but since eating WFPB over the last 5 years I have started to incorporate chickpeas, red kidney beans, black beans into my diet. Excellent. I now soak my beans overnight & pressure cook. So much better. Thank you for this wonderful video. 👍
ОтветитьThank you so much this was amaaazing!!!
ОтветитьVery good information. I've been plant-based for 3 1/2 years and the best way I found to wrap my brain around the transition was to think of meals in terms of what tastes I like then go from there. I love Mexican/spanish flavors followed by asian and then Italian flavors. Next, I looked at what meals I ate then substituted the meats for the beans. My fav all time is the black bean and it goes in almost everything (yes, even spag sauce). Chickpeas are a good stand-in for chicken and have a great chew-ability. Another good way to learn is to go to a restaurant that serves plant-based dishes. I have learned to trust the chef because this is their business and wouldn't do anything to jeopardize that. They have the schooling and experience so allow them to feed you something new. Your pallet will welcome new foods as you get away from meats and refined dishes and then watch what fun you'll have! Good luck, everyone but by all means have fun. It's just food. 😉🌱
ОтветитьI tell my family members trying to eat healthier to start by eating at least one can of beans per day. It crowds out bad foods and reduces the appetite. Since going vegetarian, I’ve felt 10 times better. When I was on keto, I thought I would die young, since my heart was starting to struggle.
ОтветитьThanks for this. You learn something new everyday. Im coming from about 45 years of chronic junk food eating, about 20 years of heavy smoking/drinking, and about zero exercise and stage 3 obesity.
I had a triple heart bypass 6 years ago at 54 years old. I was blessed that I made it that far, looking back at it. Thankfully I was off the booze and cigarettes a long time by then, so it was at least two major things I didn't have to start tackling in my recovery from the bypass. But I still had a chronic junk food addiction to tackle. Luckily for me that the whole trauma of the bypass surgery sent me into a state of surrender to getting myself healthy. I was blessed because not even a bypass surgery gets some people to change. So I started out on a Mediterranean style diet because that's what is taught in today's hospitals. I guess on the plus side it was sustainable. I might have found a total wholefood plant base diet restrictive unless I had proper people there to explain it to me which hospitals don't have. Actually, it took about 3 months to see my dietician in my hospital and I had to figure a lot out for myself. Anyway, I added walking to my diet as well for about 5 years after my operation. I then introduced resistance training along the way 3 times weekly. Not bad for a guy who couldn't walk 500 yards without chest pain and shortness of breath!!. I lost all the weight (80lbs) in just about 8 months after the op and have been relatively keeping it off.
I never really had beans in my Mediterranean diet. Its more fish based. It only since last year that I've been having beans in my food when I ramped up my game after reading about Dr. Furhman's diet and when I was ready to adapt. I ditched all the animal products and dairy and the final little remenants of my process food eating. I was still doing greek yogurts, sauces or curry's from the tin and a fair bit of wholegrain bread but with suspect ingredients.
Although Dr. Furhman calls his diet or a person on it a nutritarian........I like your terminology of "healtharian"....it has a nicer ring to it. Anyway, that diet got me to having a near zero tolerance of process food I bake and cook a lot of my own wholefoods now and take control over the ingredients.
But getting back to the beans, they are now a big staple in my diet since the meat went bye bye. But I didn't know that soaking them had anything to do with altering the nutrients for the better. I just thought they softened them up and made it easier to cook!!. Also I've started to use canned beans more recently. But that nugget of gold has made me aware that it's better that I get back to soaking and doing my own beans again. Thank you. I just subscribed and will look at more of your past videos.
On a final note, personally I'm at the best I've ever been in my life at 60. That's despite having gone though what I have gone through. I've done things that would have been unthinkable in my former life, like climbing about the third highest mountain in Ireland only after about 3 years after my bypass surgery. And I just want you to know that if you read this that its people like you that have made a major contribution to those remarkable feats.
Great Thank You Amazing
ОтветитьGreat information, very clear and detailed, and such a calming voice I actually am listening to it drinking my morning coffee.🌹🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
ОтветитьI am now having beans in my meal
ОтветитьYou are a gifted teacher, I have learnt so much, many thanks.
ОтветитьAdding a forth teaspoon to soaking beans can tenderize them. You can also be done while beans are cooking. It will not hurt.
ОтветитьYou have inspired me to eat more beans!! Lol
Maybe i should rinse my pintos and soak them but i usually put them in the crock pot and let them cook over night its easier that way than soaking lol
Isn’t hummus a form of processed garbanzo bean? Meaning there is less fiber due to food processing as well as a higher glycemic index due to the fiber in the bean has been broken down.
I noticed I get a quicker glucose spike with hummus than eating garbAnzo bean of equivalent weight.
Wesbrae organic canned beans are really no salt added, nothing at all.
ОтветитьLoved your presentation.
Just one big question, I raise chickens solely for there eggs is it okay to consume them with the plant based diet?
Looking forward to your response.
Great video. 👍
ОтветитьDr. Greger and Nutritionalfacts is the best place to get the best information about food.
ОтветитьGMO is forbidden inside EU.
ОтветитьGreat presentation
ОтветитьAnybody who doesn't have time to soak beans...for God's sake.
ОтветитьWhat about plant iron vs animal iron ? I heard the second one is better as the body absorbs it easily. What’s your take on it ?
ОтветитьGreat video! ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
ОтветитьGreat information I eat chick peas kidney beans every day very healthy
ОтветитьVery great informative
ОтветитьPractical, comprehensive and interesting video on nutrition and good health. Everybody who understands how important a healthy diet is, should watch it. Yep, fruit, vegetables and beans are definitely the pillars of a healthy diet. Roots are great, too. And yes, we should always avoid canned (processed)
foods. Thanks for sharing 🍏🍇🍑🍌🥦🍅🥑🥕🥜🥒🥬🌱 👍
Thank you so much for caring
ОтветитьWhen I was a lunch lady we’d make black bean brownies, the students loved them and never knew they were beans
ОтветитьYes ❤yes ❤yes ❤
ОтветитьSo canned beans are not the best choice? I eat a couple lbs of beans per day and the flatulence is out of control. Even after 3+ years of eating wfpb. Does soaking really help with that? And, can you freeze the beans after they have been soaked and/or cooked!
ОтветитьLove this video! Great job👏👏👏
ОтветитьGreat ideas.. thank you
ОтветитьWow, glad to learn new stuff here, that has increased my love for beans
Ответитьyou mentioned the beans don't offer vitamin b12. is there any whole plant foods that offer this important nutrient?
ОтветитьThank you so much!! You are terrific!
ОтветитьWhen.I have to rely on an organic canned beans, I simmer tjem for a half hour wigh a tsp of apple cider vinegar as i dont always digest beans well it this helps. When I began to add beans to my diet I
started with red lentils....very mild and yummy
