Great vid
ОтветитьHi Dr Matt,
Would LOVE an IRL stone!
Thank you for the recent recommendations over email!
Thank you for consistently providing great information! And
Thank you for the little slice of Americana you serve up in each of your videos with you being you!
Looking forward to coming back home to the states for a bit to be around some ‘Mericans and things that go bang!
Chris
I would love to have seen a microscope shot of the final stropped edge. What matters, of course, is how it shaved. Great video!
ОтветитьDr.Matt, great videos. I currently have a Naniwa 5k & 8k super stone. Been trying to decide on a stone to finish on. Would the ILR be a good choice to use after those stones? What are your thoughts?
ОтветитьLearned so much from these video's keep up the great work!
Ответитьthx for the razor work and videos Matt!
ОтветитьNice to see a new video doc never get tired of a honing session. Maybe you should put a live cam in your shop 🤠
Interesting the ILR stone never hone on it. Also I'm looking to get an Ark but don't know which is best for finisher the surgical black or the translucent?
Thanks
Ive seen those Type1 1950s striped fire hose linen strops in yours and Keith's videos. Where would be a a good place to look to procure one? Ill shoot Keith a message as well.
ОтветитьHey DrMatt! So happy to be watching a new video from you. Thanks for the masterclass. Cheers
ОтветитьThanks Doc you a bad ass
ОтветитьThat was excellent. Thanks for sharing your experience.
ОтветитьWhat about the pressure on the different stones?
ОтветитьDr. Matt!!! Hope you’re doing well. Have a great summer, friend!!
ОтветитьCool video seeing it from start to finish
ОтветитьGreat video as usual. Ive been a bladesmith (mostly chef knives) for 10 years or so and started making and honing straights in the past couple years and your videos have helped me greatly. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
ОтветитьI was just thinking that I needed to see a new video from you and there you were. I have a couple of razors I will be sending your way for your special touch. I got a Yuri razor that I need you to put an edge on. Talk to you soon.
ОтветитьYou talked about the wade having a high spot on the bevel. If you have that on a razor with out a smile, how would you correct that?
ОтветитьGlad to see you again. Thanks for the video. Confused by the girl, hehe
ОтветитьI would love to try out an ILR I've been hearing a lot about them and they sound wonderful.
ОтветитьGreat video! Nice stone! Thanks Dr. Matt! Best!
ОтветитьNice job on that razor!!
ОтветитьGreat vid Doc as always. Still living rent free in those dorks heads. That chick in the foto lost one of her straps, cut her a piece of fire hose to help out. ( exclude me from give away, previous winner )
ОтветитьNever seen the hand soap trick. Do you use that with any other type of stone, or just the Japanese stones?
ОтветитьI’d love to have that stone in this side of the Atlantic
ОтветитьDr. Matt, I've noticed on a few Wade and Butchers that they seem to lag in sharpness until about the 5k or 8k range. Then, they "catch up" and feel about like one would expect from any other razor. I don't know if this is just my technique, maybe I'm rushing that old Sheffield steel, or maybe it's something other people have noticed.
ОтветитьDo you still hone razors for people ? If so, I need one honed, please
ОтветитьLove to see another video! I hope i'm not too late for the givaway. I was wondering if you ever tried using or sharpening a japanese kamisori razor?
ОтветитьHaven't watched in a while. Love watching a master at work. ❤
ОтветитьMasterclass.
ОтветитьDr Matt, good to see you back at it. Amazing work on that classic razor. Thank you for your time and knowledge and sharing. Well done sir!
ОтветитьExcuse me, I would like to know a little bit. Is this JAMES JOHNSON DULCE CAST STEEL razor as good as WADE & BUTCHER?
ОтветитьI am interested in getting an ILR. I have been wanting to try one for quite some time. So I would love to be put in for the give away.
I make my own box for my stones, it is more of a personal touch that makes it my own.
Love the bomb shells at the end. Cracked me up. :)
Thanks for the videos and your time. Cheers.
I of course would like the stone, and I have noted that English razors tend to be somewhat soft
ОтветитьGreat content. I don't know if I'm too late for the stone giveaway, but would love to try it!
ОтветитьReally excellent show. I appreciate reality t.v. more and more as my whiskers turn grey. Thanks man.
ОтветитьGreat video! I tried this on a Sheffield yesterday.
ОтветитьThank you for an instructive video.
ОтветитьNice work & good tip about killing the edge before a doo over.
Ps im new to sharpening and would like to try as many stones as possible.
What are your favourite stones & grades?
I love Wade and butcher razors, I have several like 12-14 of them about 6 are true wedges. I agree I love a Janat edge on them. Is your daughter still making the shave cloths? I didn't see you use one on this shave.
Ответитьan ILR 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
ОтветитьHello Sir! I just had to leave a comment to thank you for all the great instructional videos you have made. I got my first straight razor from an antique store earlier this month and a gold dollar that was supposed to come "shave ready" from razor emporium but had nicks in the blade visible to the naked eye(they did sort of make it up to me by sending me a ralf aust for 60 bucks and telling me to keep the Gold Dollar). After watching your videos i purchased three stones pre your recommendations a King delux 1k, Nortion two sided 4k and 8k, and a naniwa 12k. I followed all the steps you outlined, and I was able to get both razors shave ready and hanging hairs sharp. Both also passed the shave test with flying colors! Thanks again your the great instruction Dr Matt.
ОтветитьDr Matt , you are a maestro !!
Are you using the Hanging Hair Test at the end of honing n stropping ??
Love your vids. And all the details. Just go ahead and ship that stone to me lol.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьHi Matt, are you still sharpening razors if sent to you?
ОтветитьIs it possible to get one side of the razor sharper than the other side? When I shave I feel one side of my face cuts better than the other side. Could that just be dominant hand vs non dominant hand shaving?
ОтветитьRespect and love from Greece
ОтветитьPlease continue doing videos…
ОтветитьHello Dr Matt,
I have seen Professional Sharpeners Have a Hard time with those Wades.
They Put Your Name on the Box because You Helped to Promote the Stone and have shown the Public on How to Use the Imperia La Roccia Finishing Stone; You are Special to ILR and to a Viewer like me who Enjoys Watching Your Videos.
Hello Dr Matt, The Reason ILR wrote Your Name on the Box is because You Helped Promote the Stone and You Taught Viewers How one Should use The Stone, You are Special to Them.
