I think that defense counsel should have watched his language. Not too many women, outside of trad-wives, like to be called "girls" and say that they were helpless because their father wasn't there.

I was was so happy at the conclusion of this trial. I wonder what Sarah will say to her lawyers when she goes to prison. That may be spicy. Defense seemed to be feeding the case to prosecutors. Thank you so much.

🚩🚩🚩Leilani Simon was also found GUILTY of 19 Charges on the same day. She killed and threw Baby Quinton Simon in a dumpster. He was 20 months old.
Sadly searchers only found pieces of him in a landfill. They found a small piece of his skull, a foot and several bones.
As it turns out she had been hanging out w/her drug dealer, getting high and having s*x while her bf and her 3 children were home sleeping. She’d get out of the house after midnight most nights to hang out w/him. It appears Quinton “got in the way” of her getting away that night and so she killed him. She was seen on video @1am throwing something in a neighboring dumpster. When asked, she said she was throwing out a bag w/leftover Shrimp Pasta that was smelling up her car.
She barely showed any emotion during the entire trial, not even when photos of his remains were shown. The female Officer that found his remains was distraught while testifying.
She is a vile human being.

Someone in Peter's chat noted the Obvious Enthusiasm of several jurors. I felt it, too. 🎉

The instructions that Owens wanted to show in opening were out of date. He's more of a plea bargain negotiator than a trial lawyer at this point in his career. Way out of his depth on this one. He wanted to split his closing arguments with Henderson, but abandoned that when the state and judge hadn't heard of a defense team doing that.

He also asked if he could use evidence during closing. That's something that a trial lawyer should know.

The main problem with her defense is that, if she didn't mean to do it, it couldn't have been self defense. They had whole hearings about that.

How wonderful would it have been for the Karen Read Jury would have understood the Jury Instructions. ⚖️

Honestly so many people in the comments were convinced that she was going to walk, so I'm happy that she didn't. But honestly, idk how she would have lol. It was all on tape.

Emily: Why do you think the judge will give her the minimum of 22.5 years for sentencing? She showed no remorse, has been a hellion to deal with, and by the sounds of it has not been productive for 10 years we know of prior to incarceration?

I think i know why the defense closing statement flopped. We cant see the jurys facial expressions. He probably saw they clearly werent buying it which was knocking the steam and enthusiasm out of his speach. He knew he was wasting his breath and at that point was just trying to get through it. And that what he did.

The trial was really anticlimactic.

Hey Emily, I have an interesting stuff. Sarah's brother John Tyler Paulsen went to prison as a s*x offender and is registered. This is on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website. I know it is him because I read his name from his mother's obituary. And Sarah was not young, she was 25 when her mother died.

That jury was not was messing around!

so the jurors went in the back signed the paperwork agreeing she was guilty then spent 80 of the 90 mins chitchatting and talking about what they'll have for supper is my headcanon.

Let's all be honest, Sarah Boone was at the very least the primary aggressor in that relationship. In fact, I would go as far as to say she would physically attack Jorge (1st) a large majority of the time.

P.S. I've studied and watched and read every last bit of info possible in this case for appx. 3 years. From everything I seen, Sarah is mean & selfish and Jorge was lonely and depressed. This was a very bad combination IMO.

I honestly don't think that she "went to bed" when she did. I'm pretty sure she sat there taunting/cursing at him for quite a while, possibly hours...waiting for him to take his last breaths and be rid of him.

The prosecution will ask for 22.5 years, but the special circumstances she recorded and recently admitted to should get her life. C’mon Kraynick you don’t always have to give in to her or leave it up to the jail. You can do this!

The trial was wild, thanks Emily for your coverage. Self defence never made sense to me, those videos of Jorge were harrowing. He deserved justice and he got it. Right decision. I was starting to really worry that the state was being lazy with their cross exams & were too over confident. Turns out, they were over confident... for good reason. Their rebuttal was so powerful.

I think that the defense got lost because Sarah did it by accident, not by battered spouse syndrome. If she said, it was an accident it would it be manslaughter, not 2nd degree. But she wanted to walk free. She thinks that she is too good and smart to be in prison for deleting Jorge.

I feel like there was a lot less fuckery than I was expecting in this case. Let's see what happens at ..***spoiler****
