Appreciating the objectivity on it here. As for myself, this strikes me as a nutty fad diet as much as for the methodology on the other end as with vegetarianism. At this point, I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole, and that's from someone who loves both meat of all kinds and dairy of all kinds!

I don't doubt that the carnivore diet is life changing for many, that has never been my issue with it. If anyone goes from a Standard American Diet full of processed foods, highly refined carbs and sugars, seed oils etc. and then goes carnivore where they are only eating whole meats, I am positive they would have a dramatic improvement. These improvements occur on plant based diets too. My problem with these people is that they will then believe that their anecdotal evidence trumps all the science behind plants and the benefits of eating a plant based diet as if their own experience TRUMPS all the scientific literature. Then they will demonize a plant based diet because they tried it once, probably for just a few days or weeks (most of them do it incorrectly) and then conclude that the carnivore diet is superior. If it works for them, fantastic! Keep it up. However, when we cross into the realm of my anecdotal evidence trumps your scientific evidence, we start going into Lala land and its hard if not impossible to take those people seriously. The evidence on plant based diets are unequivocal on its positive outcomes on many disease states including all cause mortality.

The HDL/ Triglyceride ratio is more indicative of cardiovascular disease than a high LDL number. You should know this. High LDL just means that you are eating more protein. I’ve been in carnivore for over two years and my doctor is speechless.

I love Carnivore and have done it with good results. I can’t deny that I have some worries about being on it long-term regardless of what people think. Good and informative video! Hopefully one day we’ll get more studies on it.

A potato only diet is healthier than a standard american diet. I dont eat carnivore and i dont have any chronic condition or health issue because i eat a whole food plant base diet with D3, B12, Omega supplementation. Blame your trash food rather than praise your canivore diet

handy diet facts: (1) diets don't work; (2) all diets work

the first is because you cannot sustain the changes of a temporary fix, and this is how most people think of the word diet. if a healthy eating plan doesn't make sense as a permanent way of life, your psychology will defeat you. the second is because most people never applied any sort of discipline to food until they discovered some fad diet. they imagine there's a magical physiological effect of only eating things that start with B, but the results are likely due to discovering discipline

I like to think of a Strict Carnivore Diet like an Antibiotic Protocol, if you are sick and struggling, you're suffering through inflammation, autoimmune or gut related issues give it a shot for a few months.

I had some serious autoimmune issues and I did strict Beef, Salt and Black Coffee for 2 months and it cleared up issues I had been dealing with for nearly 8 years. Now anytime I feel like my gut is out of whack or I feel some inflammation creeping back in, I drop everything and go Strict Carnivore for a Month or 2 and everything clears up. Meat isn't magic but cutting out things like Alcohol, Processed Foods and Sugary Carbs can't be bad for you in the short term.

Arguing using position of authority is not an argument.

I can summon a higher authority than you in regards to LDL. Dr Ovadia wrote a book, stay off my operating table. He's been a surgeon for over 30 years.

His view is LDL is not an indicator of metabolic problems. If you were concerned, you would take a coronary calcium score. This is a true indication of your risk of cardiovascular disease. And there's studies out there that show people reversing their CC score on a carnivore diet.

"Recent research on LDL cholesterol levels in people following ketogenic or carnivore diets indicates a nuanced understanding of cardiovascular risk in this context. While these diets frequently result in elevated LDL cholesterol, the risk of plaque build-up and cardiovascular disease may not follow traditional patterns, especially in individuals who show specific metabolic markers.

Lean Mass Hyper-Responders (LMHR): A significant subset of people on low-carb, high-fat diets are termed LMHR. These individuals typically show elevated LDL cholesterol, alongside high HDL and low triglycerides, which are generally seen as protective markers. Recent studies suggest that despite high LDL levels, LMHR individuals do not exhibit increased plaque build-up or coronary artery disease if they lack other risk factors like obesity, high blood sugar, or inflammation. A 2023 study found no significant difference in coronary plaque or artery calcification in LMHR subjects compared to controls with lower LDL levels.

LDL Particle Size and Type: The focus has shifted from total LDL cholesterol to the types of LDL particles present. Small, dense LDL particles are more strongly associated with plaque formation and cardiovascular risk, while larger, buoyant LDL particles appear less harmful. Ketogenic and carnivore diets tend to increase the proportion of large LDL particles, which may mitigate some of the risks traditionally associated with higher LDL.

Lipid Energy Model: This model proposes that, in the context of carbohydrate restriction, the body uses fat more efficiently for energy. As a result, higher LDL levels may be a consequence of increased fat transport for energy use, rather than a sign of cardiovascular harm. This is particularly relevant in those with low inflammation and metabolic health markers.

In summary, while elevated LDL on ketogenic or carnivore diets remains a concern for many, the context—such as overall metabolic health, LDL particle size, and the absence of other risk factors—may play a significant role in determining cardiovascular risk. For those on these diets, it may be advisable to monitor other health markers, such as coronary artery calcium (CAC) scores, rather than LDL alone."

For specific content on that, Nicholas Horwitz is enthusiastically sharing the latest research findings.

Lots of "I know someone" or "I heard of someone" arguments that claim carnivore is amazing, that it saved this one lady that was vegan. It is an elimination diet plain and simple.. Now I am sensitive to red meat, if were to go carnivore it would destroy my guts in a matter of days.. So that means red meat should be banned because I'm a prime example of perfect health 🙄

Carnivorous isn't high proteins, it's just animal, it should be adequate protein and adequate fat. Cholesterol is inversely related to all causes mortality. The lower your cholesterol the higher our risk of dying,

I'm not strictly carnivore i.e. I do eat vegetables and fruit, especially raw salads, but I eat a lot of meat. I just thought I'd drop a comment here to say that I simply don't feel well unless I eat a lot of meat. I'm 50 years old and have experienced extended periods of eating little or no meat, and it makes me feel sick. Not nauseous kind of sick, just generally unwell, kind of like having a mild case of the flu but without the respiratory tract symptoms that usually come with that. Eating meat gives me energy, makes me sleep really well and dramatically (like a lot) improves mental clarity. The improved mental clarity is likely to be a result of sleeping better and not directly related to diet though.

It's not only about meat, there's also fish, poultry, dairy, eggs etc. I think you should get to know the topic a bit better before acting like you know it have the authority to talk about it. Ldl higher than 250 coincides in a study in a slowy growing risk of higher death rate. But so does lower than 200 LDL , rising more rapidly than the other side. So itis really dangerous to have a ldl of about 130, atleast statistically

Carnivore is working for me! Swollen hands and feet gone. Reduced Ra meds after just 3 month on carnivore. Crp higher but I still hope it will goes down with time. I was on Mediterranean all my life. Whole foods and never crap food or a pack food. Only had sugar 3 times a year mostly just birthdays and Christmas only. But carnivore worked for me. Keto never worked for me. I still have swollen ankles which I discover is a sign of insulin resistant. So I still checking as less as less swollen an indication of my insulin. Anyhow Inuit people didn’t have an issue with ldl.

I think the biggest mistake made by those who follow a carnivorous diet is to only eat meat from the animal's muscles, like steak for example. The ideal would be to also consume as many organs as possible, as they contain nutrients that are not found in muscles. This is one of the reasons the Inuit do not develop serious nutrient deficiencies, despite eating almost exclusively animal protein

I've done the Paleo, Keto, and Carnivore diets. I highly recommend them. When you switch from a Western diet that is high in carbs to a Keto or Carnivore diet, you MUST 1) increase your sodium or electrolyte intake for the first two weeks; and 2) going forward, increase your fat intake by eating ribs, chuck, bacon, and pork belly. If you do those two things, you will be fine. Eat fresh or frozen whole foods. Avoid artificial sweeteners and processed foods marketed as Keto. Just eat meat, seafood, and eggs for Carnivore. If you pick Keto, add greens, herbs, and a few berries. Avoid all foods that come in packages and wrappers. Once you learn how to cook ribeye and short ribs, you won't miss packaged junk food. Good luck!

This is not my 1st rodeo into a healthy lifestyle. Few years back i lost about 80lbs in a few months. I drank only water, pre workouts, and beer on weekends. Ate only veggies and meat. No change to sauces or seasonings. And i worked out 4-5 times per week.
Now im 4 months “strict” carnivore. Water, black coffee, no additive tequila occasionally. Beef, eggs, some diary and occasionally fish or chicken. Only use salt tallow, lard and butter.
This time I lost +30lbs. However. I dont need pre workouts. I feel more energy. Brain fog has almost cleared. I rarely workout but im getting stronger.
