Too bad no one tried the “.while supplies last!” trick for Brain Cell Day. 😢
ОтветитьI really don't fall for most of these. I don't like spending money on things I don't need. I always make a list, have a budget, and don't "treat" myself very often. This not only saves money, but makes "the little things" into big things and they stay exciting. Sure, I can usually afford a candy bar when I go shopping, but isn't it even better when once every few months I can buy a really good bar of chocolate and enjoy it? Knowing these facts is definitely helpful though!
ОтветитьI have done mediums on several occasions. More so at the movies than anything
ОтветитьI think you're thinking of Vienna Sausages.
ОтветитьI was surprised that you left out what I think is so obvious: Getting something for “free,” such as “free” shipping when it’s not free! It’s prepaid in your membership cost! Or when cell phones first came out, many people boasted that they now got “free” long distance. It wasn’t free, though. It’s all in your monthly flat fee. People love the word “free” and are often tricked into buying more because of it. How many Amazon Prime members buy more per year because of their “free” shipping? 🤑
ОтветитьI am a sucker for "discontinued" for 90% off, especially if they are actually being discontinued and at a dirt cheap price.
ОтветитьHotdogs do come in cans. They are called Vienna Sausages, which are thin "hotdogs" cut into short pieces.
Meanwhile, I'm an elder and single, military retiree. I don't want to buy huge containers and portions of food, because I can't eat it all after opening it. If it doesn't keep for later, it's a total waste of money. But smaller packages are hard to find. Even in the "fresh" meats, especially fish portions are like a pound or two, way more than one person can eat. Freezing fresh fish is not good, it breaks down the flesh and becomes mushy. But they refuse to offer smaller portions no matter how many times I ask. When you live on a meager, fixed income tossing food is simply not an option.
Finally, unless you have a room-temperature IQ you should be able to avoid, if not be totally immune from these tactics. But sheep will be sheep... and marketers know it.
This stuff should be required learning for everyone.
ОтветитьTruckledusters? Whatever the actual f...!
ОтветитьWhen I go 2 fast food rest. I always ask 4 medium, small leaves me thirsty n large is 2 much. 4 me medium is da perfect size
ОтветитьI'm very savy because I work in retail I know all the tricks that's why it don't effect me when I'm shopping.....
ОтветитьI actually used to only get a medium drink at Chick-fil-A. Cause that's all I needed. And it saved a few cents😅
ОтветитьI definitely always buy the medium and regret doing it later, I am aware of it I still hate getting to the end of a small and nothing's left 😆
ОтветитьI’m old (76) but I’m not stupid as so many people half my age or younger seem to think us oldsters are! I pretty much have seen so many of these “buy now, limited quantity, etc,” items online but I know it’s just a lie! Your video is a very good reminder for many people though that get sucked into so many of these scams!
Ответитьas someone trained in "visual merchandising" for department stores, i don't fall for any of these.
people shouldn't blame marketing techniques for their lack of personal control. ☺️
I have mike when i could eat popcorn, several times.
ОтветитьI've seen so many offers and deals, boo on things that I don't want or need in the first place.
ОтветитьInfluencers... Says the guy with the Tangled shirt. LOL
Ответить"influencers" anyone considering themselves to be an influencer is just a p.o.s.
ОтветитьI like how Mike is psychologically tricking me into watching the most underrated Disney movie of all time. Nice!
Ответитьdear sweetie person who gives us interesting and fun facts with your wonderful personality and wit. 🤣🌷🌱
But - subliminal advertising - sometimes you wear shirts with product logos or names on them. You’re an influencer. so i’m confused. (e.g. Dr. Pepper - 25 mind boggling scientific phenomena)
Tangled is entertainment as any movie would be. that shows your opinions and inclinations which doesn’t bother me at all. 🎭
I'm from East Coast Scotland UK and yes hot dogs do come in a can there covered in brine you have a drain the can and just boil them in a pan till done for just 5mins....
ОтветитьI remember being in a department store like a JCP jamming the elevator music suddenly I hear ever so softly don't steal it is immoral . I tell my friend did you hear that ? He said no then we listened and sure enough we hear it again . After that there was a 60 min show that talked about subliminal messages and how they do it .
ОтветитьYyyyyvan Eth Niooooooj
ОтветитьMust have truckledusters!🧟♀️
ОтветитьCanned hotdogs?
ОтветитьThx Mike. As a small business owner in South Africa, I'm always looking for fresh ways to bring in more customers. This gives a better idea of how to approach my relevant market
ОтветитьThree different sizes of boxed breakfast cereal, the medium size goes on sale for the price of the small one, and the large is twice the size of the small for 150% of the price. For example the prices are four, five, and six dollars. Also online free delivery amounts…
Ответитьi really enjoy your channel but really i'm not interested in your sexual preference so please lose that shirt
ОтветитьI'm a medium person.
ОтветитьCheese&Wax!!!
ОтветитьHot dogs well sausages do come in cans they are called Vienna sausages
ОтветитьYou heard of shrinkflation..well shopping baskets have gotten much bigger in the last 30 years its part of the obesity issue..if you take a shopping cart from the 1950s and put it against a Walmart one or Kroger one and you'll see a big difference
ОтветитьA big one is... Reciprocity (they do something for you, causing you to reciprocate) Car dealerships are one of the big ones.
ОтветитьInfluencers are a joke. If I see them pushing a product I make mental note to never buy that product.
Ответитьmicrotransactions
ОтветитьSubliminal messages were known to exist in the 1970’s ; in a movie theater. Supposedly snacks were the culprit.
ОтветитьI think tax should be included in the price. If it says it's $9.99, that's all I should pay. The rest of the world does it that way, and they don't understand why we pay so much more than the advertised price!
ОтветитьOn scarcity marketing the biggest example i can think of is DeBeers and diamonds 💎 huge controversy there. Not sure if i spelled company name correctly
ОтветитьAs a British person, “Britishisms” is my new favourite term 😂
Ответить#5... I used to play a game called Animal Cove. I made a few small in-app purchases.
After a while, I added up what I'd spent.... It was over $600.
Fun fact : hot dogs DO come in cans. Not just vienna sausages either. But full grown, pure bread hot dogs in a full sized can.
