There was Operation Blue Star in Golden Temple Amritsar in Jun 84.

Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was killed by her Sikh Bodyguards of Delhi Police. And there were Anti Sikh riots mainly in Delhi and other major cities, Kanpur Bombay, Allahabad etc.

There were no riots in Punjab.
