When Medicare and Medicaid was first devised it was handled bytwo principles Medicare or Medicaid you and your doctor,then along came a privatized intrusion called HMO's or PPO's that saved you out of pocket expenses but in reality they merely charge and collect the money from Medicare and Medicaid deleting the system. This system is why Medicare and Medicaid will go broke. Step one you the patient must get a insurance group like United Healthcare or many others. Step two then you find a medical provider or HMO or PPO which you'll get your primary care physician. Step three if you need a specialist your PCP will give you a referral to see one. Step four then you must be OK'd by a intermediate group like Optum a service overseer or cost cutter. Step five then if your lucky lastly you'll go to your surgeon and hospital. Meanwhile all five steps taken by these insurance groups are sucking Medicare and Medicaid dry, a huge difference than the original intent of just you the patient and Medicare.Yes we've been hijacked by the privateers and eventually Social Security will suffer the same fate.
