I agree with the motor upgrade. Surprised more Traxxas vehicles don't come with Hoss power. Upgraded my cousins Rustler with it and wow, monster cool running torque compared to the stock VXL system. Your Hato is a pretty cool car now but it's still not a Jato :p

They've sold kits to do this for 10 plus yrs. Guy i raced e buggy with converted 2 over to 8th e buggies they were awful handled like trash not compeditive at all. Guys build the 4x4 slash into this call it a speed slash. I have a typhoon 6s indestructable and can be a entry level race buggy its based off the team durango e buggy. Horizon bought out team durango very high end compeditive cars. Traxxas just keeps building cars off existing parks. Nothing new. There really not premium quality there just entry level bashers. The 2wd slash I've seen be compeditive 4wd trash rest of em trash for racing. If your bashing go for it but I'm sure driveshafts still fail. Get an arrma they don't break take a hell of a beating parts are similar priced but you'll be buying alot of traxxas parts. If your planning to race pick up a used buggy you buy this you'll be slowest guy at the track so pissed then you'll buy another better car for racing. Doubt jamin Jay halsey or Brian Kinwald rip could win anything with one of these. The real jato was vadass nitro 2 speed this is 100% plastic trash. Look at a mugen a koyosho losi tekno the quality is just night and day different buy a new bright If your that tempted save your money buy a tekno or tlr 8eight. The tlr typhoon is pretty decent but not a full on race buggy. It's very compeditive but guys have tried everything and there a second slower lap times than higher end race cars. Club racing id run ethier typhoon 6s or the tlr tuned one.

I remember when the jato was just the stadium truck version of the revo. The both had "cantilever suspension". That was supposed to be a big selling point.

I like it but calling it a jato is weird it’s nothing like the OG jato, the shock towers look out of place on a buggy and wheels look odd definitely has potential

To all those that hates on Traxxas, go look at your bank account! It'll teach you not to hate!!! I remember back in the 90's, I had a Nitro 4-Tec that had a push button start built into the car. When I started it at the track, all the Traxxas haters were speechless while they were trying to pull start their gas cars.

Yes you can drive with confidence cause it only does 25mph, not entry level price, definitely entry level speed, just buy a velineon system for 200.00 and now you got almost 600.00 into it, don't forget you can only use Traxxas wheels cause offset is different from standard buggy wheels, what a joke this car is

Is this for racing, is it for bashing, what is it competing against, I guess it's another expensive entry level car from Traxxas, by the time you put that velineon system in it I can buy a real 1/8 buggy that will kick this things butt, Traxxas used to represent value, not anymore.

Traxxas is a bunch of worthless clowns with zero customer support. Greg, Spencer Logan should all be the Welcome to Walmart people. All they do is bend people over. Pre-ordered a couple mini maxx and one came damaged. They said it's my responsibility to ship it back. I don't have a local hobby store so I already paid $20 for shipping per vehicle. Gary told me to order another one during our chat and they will return the damaged one. So did. Then he said ship it back to them and they don't provide a label. Their reputation is going downhill so fast while other names are taking over.

I like the jato. Never would give that car another look because of the nitro but now that they have made it electric and can swap parts with the slash. I'll definitely give it some thought

I just bought a jato 4x4 bl2s

so got the new big rock 223s having lvc issues, and cannot get wheel nuts off they just keep turning. never had this kind of problem

I bought a brushless version, swapped over to VXL3s, dual fans and some other upgrades and I absolutely love it! The wing is Boeing-size though for sure!
The biggest problem with RC in general is people forget: these are oversized, fast toys for oversized children. They are for fun. Guys get so butt-hurt in this hobby, its laughable!
