So true. Gabor Mate once said: child has 2 needs: attachment and authenticity. Always chooses attachment for.the sake of survival.

it starts even before that. that painful feeling of separation in the childhood(what she talks about) is the echo of the trauma of birth. even without any complication, by birth an infant loses and no longer has the comfort of their mother's warm womb which was the only thing they've ever known. the mother and the baby was One up until the birth. the baby separated from their mother and from source itself. this is why there is no human being on earth that is not traumatized. to ease this, it is very important that right after birth the baby gets to be held by their mother skin to skin and as much as possible up until when the baby is around 9 months old. to pick them up and hold them whenever they cry, if possible. also, some people believe that humans are inborn, such large head couldn't fit through the birth canal if they stayed in there for longer. that's why they are and feel so dependent of their caregivers, because they're completely miserable if you think about it. so if mother doesn't smile back when I smiled at her, that means a threat to me, there must be something wrong with me, my life is in danger, because mom can just abandon me.
