Your videos make me so happy, I hope you know that you have changed my life. Have an amazing day Elliot 💛
ОтветитьI have Our Violent Ends and I am Malala on my TBR for this month already, and just got The Girl who fell beneath the Sea as a present, so I am looking forward to this readathon :D
ОтветитьPachinko! My best book of the year so far. I'll be curious to see what you think!
I just read Siren Queen by Nghi Vo and it works for a lot of these prompts. I thought it was fantastic!
I LOVED Pachinko!!! Both the book and adaptation are amazing!!!
ОтветитьElliot all I can say is that I love you and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading 📖 love this amazing video prayers and thoughts for you and your family love your family friend John xxx❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьIron widow is really great 🙂💯
ОтветитьThe grace of kings is really good
ОтветитьI'm not participating in the readathon but all of my reads this month are centered around AANHPI Heritage month 🤙🏻 There are so many options to discover & enjoy.
ОтветитьI need to finish the Ember in the Ashes series too! I have the last book just waiting for me to get to!
ОтветитьLove the thumbnail❤❤
ОтветитьI cant wait to get Decendent of the Crane in paperback. So many great recs!!
Ответить2 of my most anticipated releases will work for this - Kaikeyi and the Stardust Thief. Can’t wait to get to them
ОтветитьI'll be reading Confessions by Kanae Minato, The Red Palace by June Hur, How to pronounce knife by Souvankham Thammavongsa, The gilded wolves by Roshani Chokshi and Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee.
ОтветитьGood luck with your reading!
ОтветитьI'm reading the girl who fell beneath the sea by Axie Oh and that checks 3 of the prompts! and I also have a magic steeped in poison. I hardly participate in readathons so I'm happy about this. I just need to find a book with an older woman. I started sword of kaigen by M. L Wang but didn't finish it, I might have to finish it for the prompt.
ОтветитьI’ve been enjoying participating in the Readathon. 🥰
ОтветитьI adored The Stardust Thief. Was shocked by how much I loved it.
ОтветитьMy TBR:
Asian author - Ayesha At Last
Older woman mc - Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows
Different universe or world - Kiki's Delivery Service
Beautiful cover - A Magic Steeped in Poison
High ratings - Interior Chinatown
Elliot is killing the thumbnails recently! Simply beautiful
ОтветитьSo excited to see your thoughts on these books! They all sound so good and I have some on my own shelf as well :)
ОтветитьEvery time I watch your videos I buy more books. You are creating too much emptiness in my bank account and cluttering up my house. 🫣
ОтветитьIf you like Pachinko, I just finished "Beasts of a Little Land" by Juhae Kim. It's got a similar approach to story telling and I enjoyed it.
ОтветитьI feel like this is a readathon I can actually participate in. I have two books by Asian authors that I've been wanting to read. Vicious Spirits by Kat Cho, the sequel/companion novel to Wicked Fox and Shine by Jessica Jung. And if I can get it, Bright by Jessica Jung as well. Might also catch up on a manga series, Maison Ikkoku by Rumiko Takahashi.
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьThank you for raising awareness for the asian community! You are a kind soul and I love your recommendations.
ОтветитьI'm currently reading Pachinko and it's really good! I'm not usually a historical fiction person but once in a blue moon I want to pick one up. I'm happy this one is living up to the hype (at least I think so!)
ОтветитьGreat reviews, started reading Iron Widow after seeing it here. It’s fast pace definitely makes it a page turner
ОтветитьGood luck with the readathon Elliot- this was a great list of books. I would have taken part but I'm already participating in two readathons this month.
I'm really looking forward to getting the Stardust Thief next week as it sounds really good and Iron Widow was a fantastic read back when I read it.
I’ve read They Called Us Enemy and Before the Coffee gets Cold. And Daughter of the Moon Goddess and Sword of Kaigen nature on my TBR! Thanks for all the recommendations!
ОтветитьI read Pachinko about a month ago and it was so good! I’m very excited to watch the show adaption of it too! Definitely a 5 star read for me for this year 💯
ОтветитьI normally use this readathon to just read as many Asian books off my TBR as I can as I have so many! Then I go back and match them to prompts. I also like that Cindy encourages reading across different Asian countries. So far for the readathon I have read - The Wolf of Oren-yaro, Wintersong, The Jasmine Throne and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. Next up I think will be The Heart Principle and She Who Became the Sun. I hope you enjoy all the ones you pick up!
ОтветитьI haven't dove in to the whole readathon thing yet, but always love TBR/rec videos :)
ОтветитьI did this readathon last year and read so many good books, also when I read Shadow of the Fox for the first time. I found the first nonfiction I liked Geisha, A Life by Mineko Iwasaki.
ОтветитьI read Pachinko and even though it has good parts, I didn’t love it, it was just ok (and there were a couple of chapters of minor characters that were completely irrelevant to the story). I started watching the show based on the book and couldn’t finish it (even though it has one of my favorite actors in it).I didn’t like it at all.
ОтветитьDoing the Asian Readathon as well and just finished reading Gumiho! Had so much fun with it x😊
