Of course being mixed doesn't mean you're Spanish I mean being mixed with Black and Asian doesn't make you Spanish and they're mixed, But my point is since 89% of Dominicans are mixed with Spaniards, and a Spaniard is SPANISH then yes it makes 89% of the Dominicans who are mixed are Spanish. Think before you comment. ;)

I am half native american 25% mexican and the rest is european countries like italy and spain. People always assume I speak Spanish. So as a result in high school I learned Chinese! So fuck Spanish....in the least racist way

Its interesting because historically in America, Asian immigrants were considered somewhere between Black and White. Sometimes they were classified more Black but now some Asian Americans are pushed more into the White category. Of course race isn't a binary.

I live in Singapore, a country that for some reason prides itself on being multiracial (it's even in our pledge). Yet almost everyday I see some kind of racial discrimination happen, could be really small like arbitrarily labelling someone by race to prove a point in their behaviour, or specially NOT handing flyers on the street to someone of a minority race etc. But yes, all the damn time. I am mixed myself and maybe thus, this shit is so obvious to me.

Also, it really makes it even harder for people like me who are of mixed race because we're essentially a minority of a minority! The next time random people ask "what ARE you?" as though I'm from outer space and my ethnicity is up for a pros-and-cons discussion, I shall reply either "not racist" or "does it matter??" I highly recommend others of mixed race or simply those who cannot stand this discrimination to try saying this too (:

That depends on how you define race. I notice that a lot of different hispanic people like to be defined by their country of origin. If you are of indigenous latin american origin, you are hispanic.

I don't think it matters what color we are. I love the fact that we live in a state that embraces cultural diversity and blending of families and relationships. No issues in my mind. Too often people assume the wrong thing.
