Its better because they arnt trying to modernize there recipes , and we have better and fresher produce here in aus then a third world country like vietnam

Tan Viet is 1 of my favourite eats in Cabra. Can't go wrong with the crispy chicken with dry egg noodles. 🤤
The chicken is so crispy, you can even eat the thin bones. Not the drumstick, but the rib & hip bone.

bit of a spin out seeing Max in Aus. Cabramatta is the best asian food in Australia. You can getting anything there, Fresh Durian, Cempedak , any type of meat fish and veggies. intresting to see if Max got a street massage in aus aswell??

I remember when I used to work in Cabramatta back in the 70s, the whole area was predominantly Greek

Just FYI, if your scissors have a brass bolt/rivet joint then they aren't being washed in a dishwasher [at sterilization temp] and hand-washing can't clean between the blades at the joint.
Keep that in mind.
Dishwasher detergent isn't compatible with brass, copper, nickel or aluminium, it'll erode them all.

During the 134 food tour episodes by the Travel Channel in 9 years, having showed respect to the culture, Anthony Bourdain (RIP) never ever used the phrase "some Vietnamese food in 'a foreign country' better than in Vietnam". Let's make it clear that there's nothing better than the authentic/original one!

Hey Max. Just wanna tell you that Dong Ba is not a brand or a particular restaurant. It's the name of the market in Hue where Bun Bo Hue originated. So Bun Bo Dong Ba just means that it's Hue style.

Can tell Max's guide hasn't been in Sydney for a while. Quite a few of the classic restaurants he pointed out have changed hands in the last few years and are no longer that good. I'd rate both Dong Ba & Phu Quoc where they ate but Tan Viet is over rated. For crispy skin chicken Phuong Nam Noodle House in Canley Heights is better or Dong Xanh in the arcade off John Street in Cabra.

It's a shame because Thanh Binh was an amazing restuarant. Probably ate there at least once a month for 10+ years until it changed hands about 12 months ago. Food is ordinary and you can tell the locals feel the same way. There used to be a line up out the door every weekend and now it's never more than half full.

Better or not depends on personal taste. But there's one thing for sure: the foods in Australia are generally more hygienic than their counterparts in Vietnam.

The pork rolls in Mascot (near Sydney airport) are the best I've ever had. You've only gotta drive past and see the line up half way down the street to know its gonna be good.. miss that place..

I feel like the quality of food in Vietnam has gone down along with the economy there. I much prefer the Viet food in California. Of course, there are good and bad restaurants but I was quite disappointed when I was visiting Vietnam for two months Dec23.

The Chinese food is the only cuisine better in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and so is the Japanese Sushib, best in Tokyo. Other cuisines are better in Australia.

Người Hoa khi nấu các món Châu Âu thường sẽ cho xốt cà chua, như là nui, mỳ Ý, bò bít tết, bò lúc lắc. Về sau năm 2010 thì bên miền Bắc vào Sài Gòn nhiều nên không còn nhiều tiệm nấu ăn với xốt cà chua nữa, anh Max ở Sài Gòn gần đây nên sẽ không ăn được vị Cơm Cà Chua đó nữa, trừ khi tìm ở tiệm ăn quận 5. Còn gà chiên và Mỳ Dòn thì là món ăn của người Hoa nhập vài Vietnam khoảng từ năm 60s, Vietnam thì ở quán cơm gà Hải Nam, cơm gà chiên giòn, mỳ xào giòn sẽ có mấy món đó.
