And please NO ONE BUY A PET.. ADOPT! SAVE A LIFE AND HAVE A Brain
ОтветитьHoliday inflatable s are tacky... Do something other than stupid inflatables
ОтветитьDune buggy for the kids.. get some good health insurance while youre at it
ОтветитьOmg. No dishwasher... As someone who dies business in China... You are more frugal than my best friends who live there. That is saying ALOT
ОтветитьI prefer cloth napkins too. Paper ones break easily and it's annoying having bits of paper on my fingers after wiping.
ОтветитьGreat list! I'm almost all the way there with a couple of exceptions. We're not quite ready to give up paper towels yet and my daughter moved back home with her bunny so we have a pet now. On the upside to that, I donated our Christmas tree to a good cause on Saturday because it's pre-lit and the bunny would chew through the cords. We're happy with the tabletop tree we already have anyway.
ОтветитьI prefer to NOT use disposable paper products and utensils but my husband insists on having them on-hand. 🤷🏽♀️ That's one of the few things we disagree on in my decluttering journey. 😊
Ответить👋🏾;)😘😘😘😘😘😘😘🇫🇷
ОтветитьHow do you do home made cloths instead of paper towels? What are the DIY cleaners to replace the store ones?
ОтветитьHey now ain’t nothin wrong with glitter! 😂
ОтветитьIt’s fun to know the lists of others. I have a watermelon windmill-it’s the size of a ruler but for me, it’s a must have time saver because we grow our own melons and eat a ton of them. Yes a knife works but my cutter has a plastic blade so littles can help! I loved your list! Your hair is beautiful and looks like well controlled, unmessy glitter!
ОтветитьHey, Angela. Great to see you. Long time not commenting. Why 77? There's more. 😁 All the best and thanks for all your videos. ❤️
ОтветитьI have to buy paper towels but i am eliminating their use. I have allergies so there has to be tissue nearby. I am working at cutting use of paper products and switching to cotton cloths. Microfiber is micro plastics ending up in our bodies and oceans. I am trying for environmental friendly and cruelty free living
ОтветитьHmmm…most I agreed with and already follow. The ones I didn’t were more because the season of life I’m in now…🤷♀️
ОтветитьAlmost everything you've listed we don't use/buy in my house, because they're first world habits.
ОтветитьHaving 7 children, 5 of which have graduated, we have found graduation parties to be a huge financial blessing. We usually do hotdogs / burgers on the grill, chips, and cake for about 125 people. About a $300 investment but our grad ends up with thousands of dollars in gifts, most of which they wouldn't have gotten without an actual party. That money was used to help buy a car or computer for each child, something we couldn't afford to buy them. Just a thought.
ОтветитьI won't purchase alcohol. We fostered and adopted children coming out of drug & alcohol addicted homes. We felt the Lord leading us to first not have it in the home and later lead to not drinking at all so as not to be a stumbling block to others.
ОтветитьI blew up my microwave while making popcorn! I’m not going to buy a new one!
ОтветитьI’d rethink the sunglasses. They protect eyes from sun’s rays. Take it from people that have been diagnosed with macular degeneration.
ОтветитьI agree with makeup I’ve tried high end and it worked the same if not sometimes worse than dollar store makeup. I just buy it from dollar tree other than my foundation which is drugstore. The teeth whitening systems with blue light actually work though I got one gifted to me and now my teeth have never been whiter. I haven’t seen any damage yet and I’ve used it quite a few times already. I also cut my own hair too. I have no idea how you don’t have a dishwasher with such a big family though, I don’t have one either and I’m struggling with my family of 5. Maybe if I had someone to help wash dishes occasionally it would be easier on me.
ОтветитьBooks oooH... keep the books! If there is a power cut, you cannot read whatever is stored on a device. A Book requires no electricity or connection to the internet,
ОтветитьI agree with most of the things on the list. My only exception is theme park passes. My daughter and I go to KNott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Disneyland/DCA. For us, it's worth it because we go often enough and for us, it pays off within 3 trips. I usually take snacks and drinks with us, so we only buy the main meal, so we dont normally spend more than $20/$30 on food when we go.
ОтветитьKitchen garbage bins. I said goodbye to them about 8 years ago and let me tell you my cleaning experience is 150% better. You run the risk of leaving that bag in for days. I take my small grocery bag out every day. The cleaning for those bins ugh my God is just horrendous, and on a daily basis? No thank you. Not anymore
ОтветитьThere are so much I have stopped buying. Still cost $3,500 a month for rent, food, utilities.
There are so many apps on my iPhone, no longer need a separate calendar, timer, maps, dictionary, translator, alarm clock, flash light, music CDs, etc. It’s amazing and changed my life.
I would never be a landlord, big headaches.
ОтветитьI never understood why people buy junk decor at those home goods stores. I decorate with photos and items that’s personal to me.
ОтветитьA woman after my own heart.
ОтветитьThank you for the list , i agree with most , but strongly disagree with not owning sunglasses . Walk , no run or drive to your nearest store to get some ! Our opthamologist warns of eatly cataracts from not shielding eyes . While you are there buy some sunscreen too 👍 Looking forward to your next video .
ОтветитьGreat video❤
ОтветитьYou mentioned you won’t buy wall clocks, and that you would use your phone. How do your kids check the time? Do they all have phones? A great list. Thank you!
ОтветитьThe only thing I buy off your list is paper towels, however I only use them in emergencies like when the cat is sick or i am sick, that way i can flush it away or bin it. i just cannot think to wash something for that kind of use.
ОтветитьI would never live without my pets ….they are way more loving than most people…🐹🐶🐹
ОтветитьI haven’t had a microwave or a dishwasher in over 5 years and get so much smack about it. 😂 Glad to know there’s more wives out there that think they aren’t necessary. I love my pets but you are absolutely right, they need attention and you have to make arrangements to leave etc. If I had a big family I probably would not own a pet. 😂 Running a household is a full time job.
Loved your list.
I switched from mousse to leave in conditioner and my hair loves it.
I almost fell for the $1500 pots and pan deal at a home show 😢. Thankfully a family member gave me a small set of stainless steel pots over 30 years old and beautiful. They work like a charm!
Fitted sheets, additional pots and pans, plates, cups, silverware, paperless everything, dvds, records, books, shampoos, soaps, body washes, too many facial products, makeup, keeping kids papers from school, don’t use drier sheets either, don’t buy paper towels either, don’t fall for holiday scams, I don’t give gifts hardly ever, I love white tshirts, but brand is important (doesn’t mean expensive), good quality means durability,
ОтветитьAnimals? Just more mouths to feed. after our dog passed. Never replaced it. Going on five years' now.
ОтветитьWhat do you use in place of paper towels?
ОтветитьThe only luxury I engage in, is acquiring a quality wardrobe. For years when younger, I didn't earn much money and couldn't afford barely anything. Now I work for the District Attorney, I enjoy buying clothes for my personal style, not for work only. I could afford a new car if I wanted, but I don't get spending that much money for something will lose value so fast. Besides, I love my 8 year old Jeep and here in Los Angeles, I can take the bus or subway to get around when I don't feel like driving or parking is insane somewhere. I love your view on what you purchases and letting go.
ОтветитьHey, just gotta say....EV's are PERFECT for minimalism. Your cost of repairs and fuel literally go to ZERO. No oil changes, no transmission fluid, brakes last 100,000 miles. Hopefully more people will rethink this one in the future as they familiarize themselves with the technology. I don't think we will have a choice. They're here to stay.
ОтветитьI dont buy sanitary napkins any more , switched to menstrual cup recently , and never turning back.
Also i dont buy makeup such as eye shadow mascara or foundation ( cc cream is all i need ) coffee mugs , rings ( hate wearing them) , magazines ( visit nearby library every niw and then) , cable tv connection ( don't get time to watch tv ) , facial tissues ( switched to cotton handkerchiefs )
I listened to this again. I just realized I am in agreement with most of these and already this is stuff I don't/won't buy. I have pets and I do agree they are a big responsibility and curtail freedom but I wouldn't ever give them up.
ОтветитьI no longer buy commercial cleaning products. I use a dawn/vinegar mixture for my bathrooms and vinegar/water mixture for counters and floors.
ОтветитьMy truck is a 2010 with over 220,000 miles. I’ve done regular maintenance every 5,000-6,000 miles and have only use unleaded gas. I’m hoping for it to last another 3-5 years! :)
ОтветитьThe electric car is very nice to have, you don t need to change the oil, and never breaks
ОтветитьOmg I couldn’t get through all the apologies! Why can’t millennials never just say something? 😂🙄
ОтветитьAgree with it all
ОтветитьI am inspired.
ОтветитьHi, I absolutely agree with almost all of your suggestions. But you're a bit of a killjoy in some areas. No graduation parties for your kids? No Christmas decorations? Some other stuff. Yeah, you can have too much stuff - but you can have too much minimalism, too.
ОтветитьI love Starbucks..... u skipped any electronics
ОтветитьDoes anything on this list surprise you? What things will YOU not buy?
Ответить
