Word Curry is not always understood by people. You can instead use Chicken with gravy to communicate (or use the Urdu words like Chicken ka Saalan). Karahi is different from curry. When it is cooked on an open pan (Karahi) on full flame, it is called Chicken Karahi, Mutton Karahi etc.... No water is added in Karahi and it often has fresher feel of spices, chillies and herbs. Its oil is more visible too. You never see Karahi in those big utensils. Karahi is usually made after you order or something in a small quantity might have been just made...... Sometimes locals also mistake the word Curry for a Vegetable dish called Kadhi Pakora. You should try that. It has like pakoras in a yougurty sauce. It is basically curry paste in which youghurt is cooked for some time and then fried pakoras are thrown in, like dumplings. I love that and I hope that you'll like that too.
