I am pretty sure nowadays (PM v8) pci-e passthrough is enabled by default. unfortunately, proxmox documentation on their website sucks - is old.... typical german engineering..... great quality , zero user friendliness
ОтветитьIm new to homelab and I am currently planning a proxmox server build id love to see a video on PCIe passthrough! BTW love your content has helped me so much
ОтветитьLove your Proxmox videos! They gave me the kickstart to migrate off ESXi.
I created a zone called “Coldspot”, which helped me reduce the number of firewall rules. My Coldspot is sort of like “Hotspot”, but with no Internet access. I put my Ceph and Corosync VLANs in Coldspot to keep them totally isolated.
I plan to migrate my Plex server running in an Ubuntu ESXi VM to Proxmox. I probably will just create a new Proxmox VM with a new Ubuntu install and then migrate the Plex library from my ESXi VM to the Proxmox VM.
There’s some info I’ve seen on what people did with Plex but using an LXC container or docker running on a VM. But I’d rather use a VM dedicated to Plex. So, a future video on the best way to setup passthrough to use Plex hardware transcoding on a VM would be great!
what about VLAD settings? How do we enable the Impaler? 🗡️
ОтветитьThis is a very good explanation especially the point with the replication, for small companies this is a good alternative to shared storages. So you can use your outdated servers as clusternodes for disaster and kick on essential VMs.
ОтветитьPlease make tutorial about proxmox notifications and zfs notification 🙏
ОтветитьSome shit just do t make sense. Removing a nic that’s installed and proxmox thinks it’s the end of the world…it shouldn’t have to be this hard for simple small things
ОтветитьI wonder if you could talk about pfSense with SR-IOV where you pass through slices of a network card's hardware to a pfSense VM... Or at the very least passing through individual ports of a multiple port card to a pfSense VM...
ОтветитьI don‘t think there is any security benefit in using vlan interface with a second bridge over using the bond with a tag. You just add another processing layer, although isn‘t that much. Cheers
Ответитьfor VLANs I would recommend using the SDN features. It is alot less messy and you only have to set it up once and all hosts in the cluster get the config.
In the Datacenter view go under SDN, create a zone with the type VLAN, under VNets create your VLANs and apply under SDN
Hey, for the VLAN deployment I recommend using the SDN feature of Proxmox. It makes deployment over more nodes a lot easier and managing it doesn't make you nervous as you don't have to configure your nodes networking setup. Also you don't have to follow the vmbr style naming
Ответитьthose thing are too advance for my need, but thanks for the proxmox backup server part, i didnt know that
it's gonna be probably better that i currently use
(i'm using a lxc container where i mount the 2 nas storage and then i use "rsync" to make copy between them....)
PCIe passthrough video would be awesome
ОтветитьI'd like a PCIe pass-through tutorial that works for me. Never got it working with built-in GPU (APU?) in Intel CPUs. (No separate graphics card)
ОтветитьVery interested in passthrough information!
ОтветитьExcellent video Frank! PCI passthrough is my favorite...but all of the suggestion you have are pure gold!
