No matter how many holes JR dug for himself, he always managed to ease his way out and come up stronger and better than before. Even during the final seasons of the original series, when most every imaginable plot twist had been played out,he remained the most fascinating of characters to every grace our screens. Thank you Larry Hagman. Rest in peace. And thank you @DALLAS70 for the excellent quality uploads which bring back such precious memories for so many of us who remember with joy those years when this series was Must See TV.

I hated this ending. I know JR messed over A LOT of people I hated to see him get suckered so easily like this.

Dusty was fine, but I prefer him in jeans, boots and a cowboy hat. YUMMY

I hated this end for J.R. I would've much rather had him get meaner, almost Tony Soprano-like, similar to Cliff in the TNT revival series. J.R. should've remembered what Jock told him... "A cornered animal is most dangerous, and never let the bastards get 'cha down!"

With that famous portrait of 'Jock' in the back ground, you would think the writers would have been smart enough to end the show with J.R. back on top the way it all began!

On a serious note, Larry did drink like a fish in real life and it showed how he aged so badly during the 1980s. And that heavy drinking ultimately contributed to his death.
