This is a very accurate title. A Very stupid thing on Lexus is the in-exchangeability of engines. They make and naturally aspirated V8 for the IS 500. I don't know why they don't put that engine As an option, On many models including the LS and even thr RX..Mercedes and BMW do that. You can find C 63, A tiny car with a huge engine....
I don't know why the f*ck Lexus does not do that.
AS LS500H (2018) OWNER. GREAT CAR BUT TRANSMISSION SUCKS. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A HYBRIT CAR AT THIS SEGMENT.
ОтветитьSo much more classy than the Germans !
ОтветитьYeah NO V8 SUCKS👎
ОтветитьSorry, but that grill is awful.
ОтветитьLS NEEDS A TUNED NATURALLY ASPIRED 500HP V8
ОтветитьDoes it has a twin turbo V6 AWD drive option?
ОтветитьLexus diehard here. I think they are losing their core fanbase with the lack of V8s and old technology
ОтветитьIt needs a V8
ОтветитьLove everything about it except for those two knobs above the steering wheel. They are distracting and look like ears
ОтветитьCan pick up a 2018-2019 one with 20k miles for like 50-55k… seems like a steal
ОтветитьGreat car from Lexus as usual. Again it needs the V8. I love the new one but I think I’ll stay with my 95 LS400.
ОтветитьI am owning an LS500, 2021. I think LS500 is a better car than BMW 730iL and we don't need a V8. Like MB V12, it shut down 4 cylinders during cruising. The V6 provides plenty of power while cruising. On the acceleration, the turbo will help to compensate for the V8 power equivalent. It saved weight, gas, and space.
ОтветитьPlease don't drive naked with white interior
ОтветитьIf this had the V8 from the LC500 it would probably be one of the best cars you could possibly buy
ОтветитьTest drove one of these. Agree 100%. Drivetrain just isn’t what you should expect for the price. Real shame. Might be the nicest car in the world, but for that.
ОтветитьGreat review. No nonsense with practical advice and observations. I agree that Lexus and Toyota are behind competitors with respect to infotainment. I have considered both brands in recent years but have turned elsewhere because of their poor infotainment. At my age and with my current tastes, I haven’t liked the numb feel of Lexus either. BMW has been my sweet spot brand. As I age I may desire a more isolated experience and will consider Lexus. I believe Lexus beats most of it’s German competitors in reliability. That is important. Scheduling preventive maintenance isn’t disruptive to your life but having maintenance thrust upon you can be chaotic.
ОтветитьBought one of these on the used market , the F sport version. It's everything I thought it would be and much more.
ОтветитьSomehow I doubt that it will be as reliable as my '98 LS400. And without supreme reliability, why buy a Lexus?
ОтветитьWhere is the v8?!?!? Toyota!!!
ОтветитьThis with 5l v8
ОтветитьYesterday, I test drove a brand new 2023 LS500 at a LA/OC Lexus Dealership. There were some very strange things going on, and this is coming from a current owner of a LS400 & RX350. First, the gas pedal travel is less than half of the travel of every car I've driven. 2nd, mash the pedal down and nothing happens momentarily, then the Twin Turbos spool up, then the speakers create a fake engine sound, and finally the car accelerates. 3rd, the run flats are 45 Profile, that's not much profile, and it is thicker to be able to run flat. 4th, there's a high frequency vibration, nothing in the standard shocks cuts it off. No air shocks. 5th, I drove the exact same route with my 2009 Camry Hybrid, and my Camry was 10 times more smooth. No high frequency bump feel. Ok, ok, please explain to me that this isn't the reason that Lexus sells about 200 LS500 per month IN THE ENTIRE US COMBINED. A Camry or RX sells 30,000 units/yr in the US. Now, I don't need the missed V-8 to trade that for mpg. But the ride? What is Lexus doing here with the ride? After changes in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023, that's 5 separate shock/damper changes which all failed. Lexus, I came to buy, I left disappointed. Why? Is dismal sales of 2,000 units/yr better than fixing the real problem: no runflats! Lastly, the Prius gear shifter is mind-bogglingly confusing in an emergency, almost to the point of being dangerous (in a Lexus). Danger in a Lexus, come on?
Ответитьmiss the V8 in lexus
ОтветитьThe package on the configuration is stupidly adding things I don't want in the car... making it cost too much for no reason... LOL
ОтветитьI am the LAST person this car would appeal to. Then i drove my parents es350 on a vacation. Did the 800 mile drive back relaxed and not fatigued at the end. Now, I'm really considering this.
ОтветитьNobody needs V8.
ОтветитьHow good are they used?
Ответитьdefinitely needs a v8
ОтветитьThat 3.4L V6 twin turbo is the deal breaker for me. There has been too many problems since it launched in 2018, and as a former twin turbo owner the driving experience is just not as great as the one I get in my 2016 LS 460 with the 4.6L V8. Looks like I'll be keeping that 460 for a long time.
Ответитьdo WE need it to be a V8?
ОтветитьRip lexus LS, LS460 last True V8 LS 😭
ОтветитьI challenge someone to put a V8 in an LS
ОтветитьBeautiful vehicle
ОтветитьV8 and a full-size spare tire
ОтветитьThanks for this...but i think i will head to a MB ....either NEW or SECONDHAND 😅😅
ОтветитьOn Winding Road Magazine, this and Range Rover are the two quietest I have listened to.
ОтветитьThe car is so quiet the background looks greenscreened.
ОтветитьI don’t get it, if they moved the screen forward, couldn’t they just change the molding/trim pieces behind to look like how it was before..? It doesn’t look like it would be an overly complicated design to implement.
Yes it would cost money but this car isn’t cheap.
Beautiful car !!!
ОтветитьI miss my 2015 with the V8. I would’ve bought this generation if it had the V8. Sadly my obesity is killing all the four door sedans and coupes and being replace with bloated crossovers and SUVs.
ОтветитьTrust me, the twin turbo V6 will take you faster than you want to go!
Don’t believe it? Get in.
What’s the highest mile on this engine in a LS500 to date?
ОтветитьI have a gs350. And i like the screen far away and not having to touch it. Getting grubby finger marks on it. They should keep on improving it and integrating it better into Android Auto. The look of a tablet sitting on the dash looks cheap and gross. Like trading in your Rolex watch for a apple watch. Gross😅.
ОтветитьDriving naked on white seats will keep it pristine? With the amount of people that leave skid marks on their underwear?
ОтветитьRun flats have to go. Provide a spare. I’m not sold on the longevity of twin turbo V6. All this tech, much of which is not needed, is simply driving cost of vehicles and insurance up. Today’s cars have too much going on, too complicated so I guess I’m going to finally start leasing my vehicles until this gets sorted out.
ОтветитьThe interior being like that makes me prefer it over any other competitor. I work in tech, im a massive tech enthusiast but I have so much tech in my daily life that I don’t want my car to have a whole lot of tech in it so Lexus is great for me.
I want a smooth, comfy, magic carpet ride feel. I couldn’t afford an LS500 so ES300H it is. Would I prefer the LS500? Obviously
But at least while I’m in my 20’s I don’t think buying a car that new costs new $230k+ AUD makes sense to me, especially when an ES300H from 2019 gets an incredible magic carpet ride feel with similar Lexus interior styling (although not as fancy) for around 50kAUD on the used market
Comfort, quiet, smoothness, and feeling like the interior being a luxurious place (no cheap squeaky plastics like the Mercedes c class) are my main priorities when purchasing
Before they switch the engine to a twin turbo, people used to freak out on how quiet my car was. I literally could hit you while you’re walking in the parking lot if I was a jerk, because you would hear me sneaking up on you. Bring back the v8 !!!!!!
ОтветитьThis is the last Lexus worth it’s name.
