In the film Robocop, there's a used scene in which Robocop shoots a guy in the dick.

It’s it his former home in part 2. His wife sold their home in the 1st one, and the house he drives past in part 2 is her new home that Murphy never lived in. Get your facts right!

The failure to explore the reconciliation with his wife and family angle in the original was a major misfire that tainted the legacy of RoboCop forever. They made good on this miss in the 2014 redux but it was a little too little, way too late.

The scene where Robocop re-enters his old home and experiences old memories as if they're happening is one my favorites, helped along by an excellent score by Basil Poledouris.

Good for Mr. Verhoeven! The scene would have been too much. It would have been too sentimental, it would have come across as ham-fisted attempt to tug at the heartstrings of the audience.
This is exactly what today's filmmakers don't seem to understand; you don't have to overexplain everything .

I prefer the Paul Verhoeven version as it adds to the tragedy and sadness of Robocop. Where his wife and son are no longer there makes more of his humanity stripped away.

I watched this film RoboCop in 1987 and this scene is in it, when he goes back to his old hom, but I dont remember seeing his dog.

In the movie Emil, one of Boddicker's gang, recognizes him as Murphy.

I think the uncut versions somehow had reached this part of the world, I remember these scenes.

The director didn't want to make the scene due to sentimental issue, but he made the murder of Murphy scene sadistically and full of gore which may traumatize some audiences. Ironic.

This is nonsense, there was a proposed scene where Murphy visits his own grave but it was replaced by the house viewing scene.

The part where he looks at her and says, "They made this to honor him. Your husband is dead. I don't know you." stuck with me for a long time. The fact he would rather have her accept her husband is dead and move on is very poignant and self sacrificing moment. He knows they can never have a life together it shows he still has his humanity.
