I am considering buying a Gemini in a few years. Why couldn't you have just backed it out? Instead you used the spring lines to turn the boat 180 degrees. Do Gemini's not back well or am I missing something? I know some Gemini's have been refitted with twin outboards. I presume that would make this much easier.

I think that's called Spronging (with an O). Have you tried it with the aft cleats, like you did with the front cleats and use forward instead? It will do the same thing.
