PS4 Remote Play Hands-on Impressions

I am not a huge gamer so, call me stupid, but I don't see why I would use this remote play? I don't think I understand the possibilities that this feature allows... I mean, if I am playing with my PS4 in my living room, why would I want to play the same game on my PS VITA? I prefer the big screen....

I'm still buying a PS4 even thought it has no games, I'm going to sell it for a huge profit.

I wonder how the Watch Dogs remote play is going to look like.

Glad to see that remote play wasn't just an empty promise.  It is the number one reason I'm buying a PS4 at launch.  No longer will I have to turn off my game when my son wakes up and wants to watch TV.  The 5" screen isn't ideal, true, but I'll take it over not being able to play any day.

@AnthonyThomas And it works better and can be used anywhere in your house, unlike the Wii U. Also, it works for all games, unlike the Wii U, which supports less than 1/4 of the games.

Remote play on psp and ps3 never worked. Wii U off tv play is how it should be done. With the vita you'll get slight delays and will on work over Wi-Fi

@TheMooch 78 the Vita got a price drop. In some stores like Radio Shack you can buy Vita for $150.

The vita games are shit. So the only use would be to play the ps4 and ps3 through it...not worth the money. Just a waste of it.

I keep on hearing people say that the Vita doesn't have games. I mean seriously, all it has are Killzone, LBP, P4G, Uncharted, PS Allstars, Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham Origins, COD, Wipeout, Gravity Rush, Gaucameelee, Limbo, Injustice, Jak and Daxter, Madden, FIFA, MLB, Metal Gear Collection, Mortal Kombat, Unit 13, Need for Speed, Ratchet and Clank, Rayman Legends, Rayman Origins, Resistance, Sly Cooper, Sound Shapes, Super Stardust, Flower, Escape Plan, Marvel vs Capcom, Trials, Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, and like a million other games I didn't mention with more coming. No games at all.

I like the idea of remote play cause if my wife or son want to use the tv I could just use my vita instead less problems and easier.

See playstation fans you don't need this feature but it is nice to have such as for xbox fans it is nice to have extra features that you don't need either

Is it as smooth as the Wii U game pad? Is that smooth? I don't have a Wii U, but I have heard that off-screen play is pretty smooth.

The point is to make the Vita useful and make people want to buy it.
Sure its on the Wii U but no one is going to buy that shit, what are you going to play? Zelda? Boring. You can stream from any PS4 game which is epic, a front screen view is a lot more in your face.

Not bad but u need inernet 2 play with ps vita also ps4 and xbox one the graphics have not change much from ps3 so im going 2 wait till i see ps4 and xbox one step it up with the graphics and i dont really kair about graphics i still even play my ps2 a lot

its a nice feature and it has its advantages. but i personally wouldn't pay just for that i rather play on a big screen.

read that remote play is capped at 30 fps.  can someone confirm this?

Sony didn't copy Nintendo. Sony had this first in psp to ps3 remote play. Also this remote play will be better than Nintendo version. Have fun playing crappy new zelda on that fat tablet that you can't even take outside your home.

I use it as a second controller as well and it works fine. This feature is well worth having a PsVita.

Remote Play is really awesome not perfect but it's all we got and frankly i was impressed.

Finally my dream of being able to bring my console gaming to the shitter will be realized! lmao

Why can't the "cross-play" or "remote-play" work the other way around? Why can't I play a ps vita game on or through my ps4? I would love to play Gravity Rush on my big screen! The psp did it with the composite jack that you could connect to a tv. I loved playing Dissidia on my big screen with my psp! Perhaps that's what the micro usb port on the top of the vita might be used for or the regular usb port on the bottom for a wired connection to your tv instead? Sony has yet to explain what that micro usb port is for. I hope they do something because that ps vita tv thing is stupid. Vita games that use the rear touch pad and touch screen can't be played through ps vita tv. COME ON SONY! Now is the time for the ps vita to shine!

Most of these videos, everyone is using direct connect. Not using the internet... I agree with Adrenaline Junkie... This is just a gimmick until it works properly outside of home networks. The latency makes it unplayable when connected through the internet, even with very high quality internet. I do appreciate them addressing the latency, even with direct connect it is quite apparent. I hope this issue is addressed some time soon.
