Having raced in XC skiing for more than 20 years, including having the honor of representing the USA in international competition, I had just gotten used to being demolished by Norwegians, Finns, Swedes, Russians, etc. Bill Koch was a shining light in the 70's and 80's, and there were many other stars achieving some success, including Kikkan Randall (so proud of you!). But Jessie Diggins and Team USA have set a standard that I really hope will inspire others to take up the sport. Way to go team USA!

In a world where Norway dominates cross country skiing, like Team USA & the Dream Team dominated Olympic basketball -- or the Dutch dominate long track speed skating -- Jessie Diggins has truly become a World Class skier and competitor. It's an amazing accomplishment, for a young woman out of Afton, Minnesota...and she's an amazing mental & physical athlete. I'm in awe of her.
