How To Play 5 Card Draw (Poker)

okay, kakegurui made me watch this.

This is the poker game that we played every Thursday night for 6 years back in the 70s!

Is there a tutorial for the tutorial???

I have a 52 deck, (Including the Jokers,) but I don't know where to buy poker chips... (I live in Europe, so USD won't work for me.) Also, "Aces High"... God, I love Iron Maiden.

This five-card draw along with baseball and high low is what I played in the 80s in high school with fellow students.

I don't think I ever heard of a community card game until about 15 years ago when poker came on cable television.

I don't like Texas hold on because the play it properly on a full 10-person table is that you have to fold so many hands relative the ones you can play. Even in a 5-person game, half the hands dealt you cannot even play in the blinds.

Hold'em is also too much gambling for me when there's so much pre-flop raising. This is why I like seven-card-stud and five-card-draw much better cuz I could see more of the hand before I need this spill out more chips.

Where you going with AQ in Hold'em in a tough game?

"I've lost more money playing AQ [in no-limit Hold'em games] than with any other hand." (Doyle Brunson). Doyle has played in the roughest games.

In 5CD, that third card is a God-send. AQxxx is a "throw it away". AQJ-suited is playable if you are loose or in a game where the pot gets big to you.

AQssx, a four-flush with a bug (Joker) in the deck is only a 4:1 dog to come home: if there are callers on the second round, this often will make up for many short "pot odds".

AQKKx, pick 3 and be glad your opponents do not have your discarded Ace and Queen.

AQ88x, throw away the Q and the "x" and shoot for Trips or Aces-Up.

I think this is a great game for people starting poker

this is great i know nothing of poker but the part where player4 folds he says player 3 lol but i learned alot about this game

5 card draw is real poker. everything else is a gimmick.

I think there's another variation where you can only discard 3 unless you have an ace then you can discard 4

A question do u have to give up at least one card after the first round or can u keep ur 5 cards

Quick question, are there a set number of betting/discard rounds, or does it just end when nobody bets any more?

Since I never play or have learned how to play poker, the betting part of this game is where it gets the most confusing. There is a whole bunch of variations of the game poker and betting variations.

About the Jakcs or Better bet… what happen if no players have a pair of jakcs or a better hand like a flush or a three of a kind ecc?

Where does a Royal Flush come into this? Is it just the same as a flush but better than other flushes?

I noticed you omitted the Royal Flush... is there a reason?

Also, in that first round, could Player 3 have folded instead of called? Or does Player 3 have to call or raise if Player 2 checked?

Finally, (after Player 2 & 4 folded and Player 1 raised), couldn't Player 3 have called & raised again in an attempt to get Player 1 to fold or raise also and they could keep going like that to get the pot pretty high? Or do I watch too much TV?😂 Serious question though...

Wait I thought a full house beats a 3 of a kind right because you got three cards of the same number with a high card but a full house is higher therefore with a high card to top it off would beat a 3 of a kind

I know this video is six years old and very home-made, but I am so grateful for this existing.
I'm just trying to do some light research on poker and every website and video only ever does Texas Hold'em. And they all say Texas Hold'em is easier to play but I much prefer 5 card draw.

This just made me think of Revenge of the Nerds when Booger said to Toshiro, you have too many kings.

People often forget that the discard is a tell (which can be used as a bluffing tool). What to discard can also be a tricky decision, depending on your outs and estimated probabilities. There’s a lot more strategy and skill to 5 card draw than people realise.

2-8 players not 2-6 and you got the hands wrong, how can you put up a how to play video when you've no clue yourself.
