ОтветитьWhat part of Liberia is this?
ОтветитьEvery time I see a video of a town in Lofa County, I feel homesick. Thanks to you and your boy Soko Konneh
ОтветитьThe chief was born in 1786 n died in 1920? So he was 134 years old ? How sure is this ?
ОтветитьMy great-grandfather migrated to Sakonnedu from the religious town of Kuluka, situated near Voinjama City in Lofa County about 200 years ago. In the 1800s, my grandfather was born in Sakonnedu. During his twenties, my late grandfather, Kemoh Sheriff, gained widespread popularity for his exceptional hunting skills. He ventured to a nearby town, now known as Gbegbedu.
Upon arriving there, the town chief of my current village, Mamikonnedu, was present and invited my grandfather to visit Mamikonnedu for a hunting excursion, knowing of his reputation. Upon reaching Mamikonnedu, my grandfather encountered my grandmother, then a young woman, fetching water with her friends. He was captivated and proposed marriage to her. To the surprise of most people, he was granted permission to marry my grandmother, which led to our settlement in Mamikonnedu, Lofa County.
Thanks for sharing! I’m from Sakonnedou ❤
