Egan Bernal in good form is great to watch, I remember his 3rd place at Strade Bianche, when he only was beaten by the hill goat Alaphilippe in good form and a MVDP in stellar form. People like Pidcock, Pogacar and Van Aert lost half a minute to him in the final there. Can't wait for the next edition.

It's great to see him back, give how horrendous his crash was. He's lucky to be alive, and he embraced that chance by working his ass off to get back to top level. Can't wait to see him win again or at least challenge the other leaders

how time flies....

I think we should not forget Buchmann in this Giro. It was the last Grand Tour at the start of which he was well prepared. It is a shame that he crashed out before they went to the mountain stages that would have suited him better.
It is crazy how much of bad luck this guy had in the last two years and I am not so shure wether he is still able to compete at the 2019 level by now.

That crash tho…

You should make a series analyzing classic Grand Tour stages. Indurain, Pantani and the like. We all know how they achieved those performances but still, would be cool.

Stage 9 was crazy best stage in years

mohoric swerwed due to rear wheel slip and because of that clipped a rainwater drain in the kerb. He gave an interview about that after Milano San Remo win.

So good to see Bernal back. An exciting, talented rider and seems like a genuinely nice guy!

He didn’t use too much front brake and didn’t clip the curb, he lost the rear and high sided. Happens commonly in motorcycle racing. The rear goes, then hooks up mid-slide, and the physics then throws you over the bars to the high side. Has nothing to do with braking.

A few years before without the helmets that crash would have finished his career

As someone who had a nasty crash and landed on my head in a descent, it took me AAAAGES to be confident descending again, and it’s still at the back of my mind 18 months later. Mohoric is an absolute gangster.
