Stage 3 CKD isn't immediately deadly but according to some studies can reduce remaining life expectancy by 1/3 to 1/2 (which for a 50-year-old person can translate to 10-15 years lost). Best to try to get it to stage 2 or 1 or ideally get rid of it completely. At the least take it seriously and manage it properly.

Phosphorus is a huge killer... Though it's an essential electrolyte, its too abundant in our foods due to preservatives... So any time you see an ingredient list with LOTS of stuff on it, avoid. Really anything that starts with PHO---- has phosphorus.... This one reason why processed foods are frowned on in the fitness community, the phosphorus will wreck you by building up and hurting kidneys...

The worst phosphorus killer: Dr. pepper, Cherry Pepsi, Cherry Coke... Colas are huge in phosphorus, and the cherry flavor is ridiculously high in phosphorus, and as everyone knows cola is bad for diabetes.... I was doing awesome, diabetes no problem in months, no foamy urine in months... I would drink a ginger ale from time to time, thought I was in the clear from non stop exercise.... I had just one cherry coke and my arms started to get really painful breaking out in bad kidney failure rash and I haven't been able to get completely non foamy urine again for months.

Watch out for phosphorus, it's a BIG TIME killer. And when I say that: Just lower the intake... Exercise will remove it from your system, like NaCl(sodium) and potassium... But if you don't trim your diet to limit SOME processed foods, it will be a grave mistake... That said, I gotta have a pizza once in a while, or hot dogs, but I manage that by cutting out lots of gunk and reading nutrition labels.

Just wanted to thank you for this channel and all the work you put into it. I am 38, and Just about 1 year ago on feb 13 2023 i went into icu and was charged with stage 5 ckd with a GFR of 10. I also had systolic heart failure and cardiomyopathy. It was caused bt a hypertebsive crisis. I think i got high score for the day for BP. 242/160. I lost my vision as well to the point where i could not read anymore. And doing things like going from laying down to sitting upright, or going from a dark room to a lit one, my vision woulf go completely black and i could not even see my hand 2" in front of my face. In the hospital i had severla doctors comign at me asking me tons of questions but not telling me much. Eventually they sent in the nephrologist and he told me i would need to be on dialysis if i wanted to live longer. I did not qualify for a transplant due to my bmi. So that really was shocking to hear. But then another doctor came in and told me sort of tongue in cheek that if i am still making urine then i do not need dialysis. So that gave me a glimmer of hope.. and i found this channel. I studied up. And i made some changes to my diet. I didnt go as far as to go full plant based. But i moved away from processd foods and stated eating more fruits and veggies. Cut the sodium.... when i left the hospital they told me nothing. Just "limit sodium and potassium" they didnt even give me a rexommended amount. Nothing. I had to ask very specific questions to get infornation on how to mitigate or slow damage. So this channel helped with that.. i left the hospital on feb 18th. In march my labs showed a gfr of 16. So i continued to ween off meat. In august i went back for labs again and my GFR had gone up to 21. Around october i gave up the meat. In december i had an echo on my heart and it had normalized.. i had also been experimenting with grounding, and energy healing, and sound healing, which i know sounds quacky but i was desperate... Recently started doing sessions with eesystems energy healing, i went in for labs last week, feb 2024, and my gfr was a 34!! And i will be hoenst. Ive been using salt for a while.. no more swelling. No more water retention. No more edema in my lungs and legs... at one poiny my ankles ans calves were so swollen i couldnt fit shoes... i couldnt walk literally 25 feet without either stoppii g to gasp for my breath or near fainting. Sometimes had to drop to the floor to catch my breath. I thought i didnt have a hope in the world. I literally had written my life off ans being over. I told my mom if i had to do dialysis that i wanted to just die.. but your channel, and the informatkon your guests have put out, i think really saved my life. I feel normal agaian. I am still blind in my left eye.. but i am starting to see color in it again, and i cab see my nose. I also can read again and write obviously. Stull have a little trouble with typing becusse my depth perception is out of whack. But im here, im healthy. I can walk again as far as i want. My blood pressure is somewhat under control.. my kidneys are healing.. i seriosuly think i would have given up if i hadn't found your channel and really studied. I probably would not be alive right now. So thank you James, you rock!

It's my understanding you cannot repair damage already done - but you can stop or slow the progression.

Can you have vision problems in stage 3 . I have blurred spots . Went to the optician they said my eyes are fine ?

Please can you advise what to do for someone on the final stage of kidney disease...my friend just had kidney transplant but the new kidney is not working so she's back to dialysis 😢

Folic Acid is a synthetic man-made form of folate that up to sixty percent of people are unable to process. Either Methylfolate or Folinic Acid (not the same as folic acid) are bioavailable & a far better choice if folate supplementation is required.

The GFR kidney test reminds me a bit like the A1C test…..sort of a batting average over a few months time of how your kidneys are doing? (A1c glucose is doing)

My phosphorus was so low when I was just hospitalized I couldn't even walk or stand. Is nausea with ckd 3 normal or is it a really concerning sign?

Symptoms seem to collect every day. Waiting to see nephrologist. I wish there were a video about GFR related to your AGE. Someone who has stage 3A CKD and is 75 years old is totally different than someone in their 20’s-30’s. Kidneys naturally decline somewhat with age.

Great for diagnosis but no mention of oxalates and CKD. A general plant-based diet has a huge potential to cause more damage. Thank you helping my family understand my father's blood tests beter❤

Now I have a different outlook, but if I cant loose weight, I am going to a kidney clinic to volunteer. I think it would help see the light. Thanks.

Hello dadvice I just want to know what actual happened to your kidney function and does it was acute or any infection cause disease which is reversible! Bcuse in my case it is showing that I m having some cortical scarring in my kidney which is not reversible, so does there is any change to get my irreversible to get reversible’!!
