That 2nd half from sporting was just unreal.

Pep is a genius but there are no creative midfielder at the moment so we need to use haaland as much as we can, we need dortmund type haaland back who can create his own chances, more involved within a game rather than waiting for a ball to be passed.

Been looking forward to this fixture Ian, it has a personal aspect for me as my late mother played at this Jose Alvalade in May 1957 in front of around 40-000 for her team the Manchester Corinthian Nomads, so we’re very proud of that. Great first half, and the best we’ve played for ages, don’t know what happened in the second half, but we just crumbled, those 2 early goals killed us and we looked all over the place at the back. A dreadful second half and we have to give them credit, however let’s get some sense into this, 1 league defeat in almost a year, a record unbeaten run in the CL until yesterday, and a loss to spuds in the league cup, there’s no crisis, some tough games ahead then a break and hopefully get some players back, then we can restart our season. Same issues that we were having even before we lost the last two matches and were scraping wins by one goal - vulnerable to fast transitions / counter attacks, a soft-looking (or softer at least) centre midfielder and missed chances / not putting teams out of sight.

Flat back 3 or 4 with little pace! CITY are a dream team to counter attack at the moment. One long ball and fast forwards are making a mockery of the defence. Missing Rodri a lot but a team leader on the pitch is sadly missing!

I'm more concerned about Liverpool's form as a utd fan, they look good and I think they'll win the league, as for city's result last night... Sporting should have been beaten by halftime!.... If city had a fully fit team with all their star players they probably would have got a result.

I thought Sporting were pretty meh, our defence was shocking...Gvardiol is great in the opposition half but pretty poor in our box...likewise Rico. The young lad at the back was out of his depth and got bullied. Should have been 3/4 up before they equalised and we collapsed thereafter. losing those 2 goals at the start of the 2nd half with that kamikaze approach was amateurish. Haaland scores some great goals then misses some sitters...I'd take a 25 year old Kun over him any day of the week.
