So good, sun, water, scenery and great fun! I've often looked at that track around to the campsite when driving past and thought we must stop there sometime.
Great to see the paddleboard getting a real work out this summer. That Haast pass section has some amazing scenery just off the road.
A pretty major incident losing an item from a Helicopter, will be interesting to see if it's investigated.
You'll have to check out the Sawcut gorge in Marlborough when you're up this way. It's a bit longer walk than it used to be due to access changes, but is a nice 4 hours or so.
Paradise
ОтветитьI've not seen the vid yet, watching now. Kidd's bush is Heaven on Earth, probably my favourite in QLDC.
ОтветитьAwesome video you always seem to get to all my fav places in Otago and Southland. Where do you get your music, I love it? Is it royalty free or do you have to pay for it?

ОтветитьOld kiwi builder living in Australia. First travelled the Haast Pass in early 70s. Been to Haast (Okuru River to build a whitebait stand. Travelling from Kaiapoi over Arthurs pass down coast. Back via Wanaka Lindis pass(gravel road then) Built in Wanaka and worked on Clyde Dam before Lake filled. I take my hat off to you guys living the dream. What a great classroom for your children. Loving all the South Island places, I'm reliving many memories. Thank you❤ Making an old man very jealous. Take care and stay safe. Eddie 😎🙏
ОтветитьHey Mike. Awesome footage. I think the human body is 90% water. But I reckon your family must be 99%. With all the swimming you do. That's a throwaway comment. Loving your channel. Keep em coming. Thank you for sharing. Take care.
ОтветитьOh wow, I'm at Kidds Bush rn😎
Funny to be watching this video at the very location you filmed it!
This was a month ago right? Maybe one day you might publish in real time? 🤞

Falls, how bad were the mosquitoes? They were eating me alive trying to get some pictures.
Thank you for sharing the journey!
ОтветитьGreat, mike. I will send it to friends in Toowoomba who are doing this road trip coming Christmas 2025. Cheers Rolanda ❤️
ОтветитьI came through Haast pass from the west coast in December of2018. I was over from the states visiting my cousin who lives in Rotorua. We came across the neck between Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea at golden hour and the view of Lake Hawea was stunning. We pulled off on the side of the road to take pictures and enjoy the view. We hiked to the Blue Pools but did not know about Wilson Creek. I put that on my list for next Decembers trip.
ОтветитьGreat video. Always love them. It’s keeps my dream alive that I will be doing this soon . Just gotta get all my ducks in a row financially then it’s all go.
ОтветитьEpic!! Just love the Haast region
ОтветитьReally awesome spot there on Lake Hawea. Its a unique drive coming over Haast pass and then you hit Lake Wanaka for a bit, then cross the neck and then Lake Hawea comes into view, incredible. Gates of Haast is an amazing spot too. Thanks for jogging our memories of our camping trip down through that way. Top marks Mike for more great footage of our amazing country.........and yes you guys are so right, amazing culinary delights can be cooked up in a caravan, truly edible delicious food can become a banquet of taste and delight. Good stuff team Leopards!!!
ОтветитьWhat an awesome video. Great weather, great food. How good live on the road can be, ay.
ОтветитьNumber one fan 🙋 right here brother bear come pick me up mannnn
ОтветитьHey Mike posted earlier. If your heading to Haast recommend Jackson's Bay south of Haast. Good fishing off wharf. Bush walks to western coast. History. Good camping up the Arawata River. Amazing scenery. Pack the bug spray. Took our 4 children there on a number of trips to NZ . They are all grown up 2 boys married, 1boy engaged and my baby girl is 23 this year. What I'm saying is enjoy them while they are young. They grow up too fast . Some of the happiest days of my wife and myself lives was spending NZ holidays exploring with our children. When we all get together we relive those memories. Enjoy, take care and stay safe Eddie 😎🙏
ОтветитьCan you comment on sandflies pls also sooo many places you go can't take dogs even on leads 😢
ОтветитьNice update thanks.
ОтветитьLove following your adventures :)
Was going to ask what do you film on underwater and are you kids ok using the camera?
Hi love year content and the awesome lifestyle you're giving your family. Very proud Kiwi who loves our landscape and people, all Kiwi's need to watch your videos to see what is available to go out and explore 👌👍
ОтветитьWhat’s the road like into Kids Bush Mike? The last time I went to the Blue pools the bridges were open which gives you a different perspective looking down on them, good to see DOC is finally started work on them so people can get to see them once again.
ОтветитьWent to Kidds Bush once (that was enough!). Lovely place and situation BUT sandflys by the thousands! As soon as you step outside they just descend in clouds. Will continue all over the Coast. Such a pain!
ОтветитьWe certainly live in paradise. We also wireless nation. Have only had a couple of tkmes where we couldn't connect
ОтветитьAwesome !!... Now I have to add another day at Kidds Bush on my October trip especially to visit my name sake creek and the blue pools, how good do they look .... thanks for showing these cool spots and forcing me to have an extra day in the area.... cheers for the great video work ...Wilson
ОтветитьIt was great to meet you in person at this beautiful site! Given the horrible things that are happening in the US over the last few weeks, it's so nice to be able to go back to NZ through your videos.
