I went through Sheppard in 1985 for crew chief school then again in 1995 for E and E.

I got Aircraft metals tech, do you know anyone at Sheppard that has that, if so what have they said about it. I leave for basic on the 28th then im off to sheppard after that for 67 days of tech, and i just wanna know what im up for.

Nothing has changed there. Its a training base thats about it. Did my 3 afscs there and got out at 14 years. Miss the place and the training there.

OLD Crew Chief here. I was there just over 50 years ago, if you can believe that. You nailed the first day there; I went straight to the club and got crazy sht faced. Took me an hour to find my dorm after that. Then immediately got violently ill out the window of my room. My new roommate was NOT impressed. Settled in after that and got 'er done.. Good on you young guys taking the reins.

Thank you for sparking so many memories for me. I was there for tech school in 86. Forgot all about the Phase System. There wasn't much to do around there in the 80's. Someone always rented a car off base from Rent-a-Wreck on the weekend and we'd drive around with no place to go. There was a sleazy strip bar and tattoo joint right off base. I do remember having a lot of good times at the Airmen's Club. Back then we got away with a lot of things that the AF of today wouldn't tolerate - for good reason. Xander, take advantage of every educational opportunity offered while you're in. You'll thank yourself for the rest of your life. Thank you for serving!

How old were you while you were at Sheppard? I’m going to Basic in about a month from now and then I’m going to Sheppard and I’m currently 24. I’m going to be at Sheppard for somewhere between 6-10 months depending on which Aircraft I get assigned with my shred, I got an avionics job.

Ended up falling out, went to comm college, then to a uni, and ended up now interning for the gov AGAIN. Crazy
