reds and specks are weird taste wize. i have had a surf spec (they are more plump and pink ontop) and that one tasted great, had a bay speck that tasted like the bottom of the sea where spongebob walks around. same with redfish lol. for reds the smaller to the minimum size limit taste better most of the time. try catching a lizardfish, i seem to catch em near the port A ferries on the right side. apparently they are very good tasting and would be up on that tier list

Only moved to Texas from London 6 years ago and was only fishing fresh water there. But Im so happy to be able to fish for so many great species down here and even better they all taste great.

Great video. Just about time to be getting on those sheepers tho! Was gonna also ask if youve thought about trying the bridge by the college on ocean drive for some big uglies. Caught a few there a couple weeks ago on dead shrimp and electric chicken fishbites. drum really seem to love those fishbites. Appreciate the videos!

Where was the C-tier specimen caught? And what were water conditions that day? Both can have a big impact on taste. Glad to see redfish moved to its proper place, imo--perfectly neutral flaky white fish.

Great video Coop. One thing about the redfish taste in my opinion is that the smaller, the better. I'll take 21 and 22 inch redfish all day over the bigger ones. Was last time redfish a bit bigger than the one in this video? Might be something to consider 🤔
