Nalbandian at his peak used to just take the racquet out of your hands, ridiculous shotmaking and cat and mouse skills. People literally used to guess where he was going to hit his backhand because he could flick it ANYWHERE

Injuries, inconsistency, and off-court distractions often held him back from reaching the heights he was capable of. It's easy to say he underachieved, but when you watch him play, you can see just how much raw talent he had.

Wow. I always loved Nalby, he was a fave back in his day, but beating all the Big3 at one tourney? Wow, that's something.

If you want to see someone destroying Nadal, ask Dustin.

To be fair he wasn't going to do this at other tournaments because it was at indoor tournaments where his game was the best.

It’s not the Big 3; it’s the Big 4 - technical strength, strategic strength; physical strength; mental strength. Nalbadian was a 2.5.

what a shame. Those big three would not have won that many majors if this guy were serious. Similar to kyrgios. The big three must be very happy that he retired early.

Unfortunately; it's about more than just "talent".
I've never understood when people completely dismiss huge parts of Champion-level tennis by saying "IF only he were healthy..." or "If only he were mentally stronger..."
It sounds silly.
"If only I could get to more shots and hit more winners, I'd be great!"
LOL

Nadal was 90 % phisique and 10 % talent, Nalbandian was 90 % talent and 10 % phisique (or even lower than that)

In 2007 there was no "big 3". Djokovic had no Grand Slam tournaments.

Obviously Rafa was good this young, but I think of 2010 as when really first saw "Prime" Nadal. The improvements to his serve and backhand were so significant.
