ОтветитьIf i ever get a home i want this bed style
Ответитьhow would i be able to do this and make it taller ??
ОтветитьSweet build. Any thought to how to make a freestanding storage bed for an adult renter? I was stumped by the drain tiles in the list until you talked about foam mattress moisture.
ОтветитьWonderful job and thanks for making a video and sharing everything! Question about the painting....did you sand it before applying the primer as well? Did you paint brush it or with a brush or paint roller?
ОтветитьGreat work!! Where did you find the wall mural?
ОтветитьIm comong from a woodworker family in germany and must Tell ohne big mistake he done. Under Matratze must be live gitter Thatcher Matratze can breeze Otter IT Start gsmling . He make clone Woodstock plate
ОтветитьGreat video. I’ve seen many examples of this style of bed (see Never Too Small) but few that show how to build one. Another variation for adult bed, design the gap/ladder at the point where you’d naturally swing your legs around, rather than at end of bed, where you’d have to shimmy down. I love the cubby underneath- fun for sleepovers.
ОтветитьLove the idea
ОтветитьI absolutely love the cubby underneath! I dream of one day owning a home so I can build things like this.
I am a bit concerned about ventilation for the cubby, though - there doesn't seem to be any, except for the cut-out in the door handle?
If a kid was hanging out in the cubby with the door shut, I imagine it'd get pretty stuffy before too long?
I really like this. I think a built in bunk bed is far superior to anything store bought. I was caught off guard with the comment about people thinking their mattresses will get moldy. I worry about dust, but never mold.
Ответитьis it durable though? i mean im gonna be scare if i put my heavy mattress + me on it, it will break the wood...😂
ОтветитьNow this is the kind of father every kid dreams of having and that one day I hope to be 👏👏👏 growing up without one gives u a sense of appreciation of the things u never had... This is a great room and the kid is lucky to have... Nathan is one lucky kid
ОтветитьI love how simple yet elegant looking this loft bed is 😍😍😍 Great work!!! 🤗🤗
ОтветитьThe little nook under is genius, that's perfect for cozy rain day activities!
ОтветитьWhilst this is genius I am actually worried about how much weight this can withstand on long term
ОтветитьI would have KILLED for this setup as a kid. Want to do it now, but pretty sure hubby would think I was nuts. Love it!! ❤
ОтветитьAwesome work! I love how you used the drawer handle/cutout shape for the door!
ОтветитьI’ve seen people warning about mold, but the only anecdote I’ve read where someone actually got mold was when they had their mattress directly on the floor. My whole family has had mattresses on plywood or even inside a solid waterbed frame for decades and nothing ever molded.
ОтветитьWow it’s beautiful! Thank you 🥰
ОтветитьGreat work! One thing I would've done different though, instead of just brackets for the horizontal supports, I would used a 6" wide support against the wall then notched out where the supports go, with a bracket as well. All it takes is a crazy kid jumping, like mine. 😂
ОтветитьNão acredito que acompanho tanto tempo no insta e não tinha ideia que estava detalhado aqui ❤
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial, one of the best I've seen and I watch a lot of home improvement videos. Great design, all needs met, tons of storage and bonus secret play room. Very nicely done! It looks awesome!
Ответитьthis is so cool!
ОтветитьI would've liked this as a kid!
ОтветитьMy childhood dream
Ответитьfantástico,maravilhoso ,estava pesquisando há muito tempo e agora achei,lindo demais.irei fazer igual🤩🤩🤩
ОтветитьExcellent for studio apartments to help segment away the sleeping area while creating loads of storage!
Ответитьjust like my room design
ОтветитьIkea has sets of slats that go under the mattress. Could you not skip the plywood and then air circulation is not an issue?
ОтветитьCan you do a renter friendly tutorial of this?
ОтветитьQuestion how much did this cost roughly because I’m thinking about making something similar
ОтветитьThis looks really good, the only thing I'd say is I'd put the cross supports under the bed the other way around so it's stronger.
My daughter would love this. ❤
Excellent demo. And I love the nook!
Ответитьhow much did it cost to make
ОтветитьHow much was your all in cost? How long did it take?
ОтветитьThis is a really nice project. 💖
I'm guessing to make it rent-friendly I suppose you could build the support directly on the furniture and perhaps some extra in the back to make it look "box" shaped?
And perhaps skip the wallpaper and the top-storage shelf.
Anyway! Given the weight of the bed, mattress and everything I can't imagine it would slide around even without being attached to the wall, and it'd be too wide to simply tip over.
Was there any particular reason why you still decided to attach the bed to the wall, or did it simply save resources by not having to build the support like a "box" and simply let the wall take the weight instead?
The little details in your video helps so much! Stuff like telling us what kind of wood you got, what they're called. Even the small things like how you used a jigsaw to to carve out the handles were great for those have no idea what tool to use. Im in the process of cutting a few inches off an ikea loft bed and reinforcing it with some beams. It sounds simple but I was worried of getting it wrong. Your video has helped boost my confidence in it. I might even paint it now that I know about sanding it before painting. Thanks for the informative video!
ОтветитьAMAZING ❗❗❗
ОтветитьCould you give is a review from inside
ОтветитьYour supports are standing on the 4 of the 2x4, they should be on the 2 of the 2x4. The wide way can bow over time.
ОтветитьI think you need holes under the matress for breathing
ОтветитьWhat sized bed is this? (Like is it a full, twin, queen?)
ОтветитьIt's nice I would have made more book shelves up top.
ОтветитьHello, can I get a link for this beautiful wallpaper please?
ОтветитьVery nice, you tripled the floor space with the loft bed. The matching cut out handle was a good bit of design aesthetics, lovely.
I would have done a few things differently:
Make a swing out, latched bed rail to enable easy sheet changes. Guess who will be changing the sheets? You.
Leave cubby spaces all over the headboard, using paracord to hold back things or netting, or a wood rail. Paint inside the cubby holes with multi color paints making color blocks. Then add some led lighting so that it becomes a giant display cabinet or toy/ book storage with fun colors. That was wasted space.
The mold under the mattress is a real concern, as well as airflow for skin. You should cut the plywood up like Swiss cheese, esp on the hollow parts. Your insert is not enough. Any of us who travel in RVs know what mold can do. Don't fool yourself with that flimsy thing. You need slats.
The colors and wall paper designs are very soothing and inducing to sleep, bravo!
terrific room. what a great job. congratulations
