With these scriptles missile builds all using the custom turret controller I'm fairly certain that there will be a custom missile controller in the base game at some point in the future.

Even better than the "normal' alignment via custom turret cotroller and two gyros. But don't quite understand it, yet.

I saw the other self-guided missile build, utilizing the turret controller, rotors and override gyros. I guess it was less complicated and cheaper to build, but still it's awasome to see different approaches to the same problem

Nice, how it actually works tho? :D
Do you need to set something on the sensors to rotate or activate something? how the camera points to the target? How the missile turns exactly to target?

This missile seems to have a fatal flaw.
What if it locks onto a friendly vehicle, say for instance an unmanned drone?

turret control blocks. so much more than turret controllers... you can turn entire ships into drones.

I think you'd do very well having livestreams where you put things like this together live. Talk about your thinking and theory crafting. It would make for a very enlightening stream.

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was.
The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error

MFer basically built a un-caged seeker head for their missile so it can acquire a TV lock, that's hardcore

Interesting way to guide it, very different than what I did. My early missiles tracked by putting the target directly infront of the missile using gyroscopes and several sensors (w/1200m sensor range mod). My latest ones use the turret controller (&turret range extension mod) and has a fixed camera at the front. It rotates two inverted rotors (SIT, azimuth and vertical) with overridden gyroscopes at the base of the rotors. This created a sort of 'platform' by giving leverage to the rotors turning in mid air, so it aims at targets with the same effect as an AI turret.

I love making turret missiles, if made one that's nimble and quick enough to catch up to fighter crafts... it's funny when you knock the ash off n you get to watch Emma spiral off into a crash I will say, if planes on making ships that will employ massive amounts of these missiles... tho I'd need to find a good way to reload and possibly make em on board, but I do have an idea for that...

Well. Very interesting idea. Awful execution, but it's more game's fault, rather than author's.
600 meters is literally the turrets fire radius, so we got to launch it a bit further. Firing range tests showed that Eqm.009-K cannot be fired from 1km and 860m. The only results we got were from 710m. Only on third launch rocket was able to destroy target.
Also the tripod. It is awfuly inconvenient and hard to manage.
Overall missile is very interesting experiment and engineering challenge, but not suitable for practical use
