They've had hints of this since SMT 2, if you think about it. The default names are all letters of the hebrew alphabet: Alep(h), Bet(h), Gim(m)el, Dalet(h), the first four... but it skips over 5 and 6 and goes to Zayin. Now you might wonder why that is?
If you know what the fifth and sixth letters are, it all clicks. 5th and 6th are He and Vav. The messians revere YHVH so much that they refuse to even TOUCH his letters with their chosen artificial humans.
I said El Shaddai in reference to the game
Whoops! :3
YHVH = Mr.Clean
ОтветитьWhat a unbelievable petty being this God person is.
ОтветитьWait saying "god" isn't saying his name in vain?
ОтветитьI must have misunderstood the origin of YHVH but I was under the impression that God’s name is so holy and powerful that it was forbidden to say it because saying it invoked his presence and we were not worthy of it; only he could ask us to appear before him. So as to speak of him, an alternative name was used which became YHVH.
This is to say, YHVH is a name representing God’s own name. Much like how Metatron represents the voice of God, all aspects of God that we know of are representative of the actual aspects.
I always pronounced it "yefuh" but it was almost certainly wrong.
ОтветитьMy dumbass reading his name out loud:
ОтветитьSimply False Lord because if we speak the Holy Name its goes Blasphemy.
ОтветитьIl nome lo dico io: porcoddio! Lillo! 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI don't much about smt lore, but thats just the second commandment

ОтветитьJust noticed this when replaying persona 3 reload, it actually gives a (maybe) official pronunciation of YHVH, although it's the same as what you say in the video.
On 8/14, in Edogawa's summer class, it's one of the incantations he always does at the beginning of the lesson. It's not voice acted, but the game spells it out as "Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey" so at least we get confirmation that the third letter is pronounced "Vav".
It's not exactly a confirmation but it's something i guess.

ОтветитьYHVH means yahovah. yahovah means yah is chaos. or yah is chaos/ruin/destruction/mischief. The reason people aren't allowed to say that name, not one of his names which it is, but 'that' name, is you're calling yah chaos. His name is basically yah for all intents and purposes. yahweh. yahovah. yahuah. yahshua. ...yahushua? And other names from the past might include oh I dunno, yaotl. The cult of yaotl, when they yes theeeey went to the Aztecs and replaced Quetzalcoatl with yaotl and guess what? The human sacrifices only began, when they replaced Quetzalcoatl with yaotl.
Got something to...reconsider there? christians? Foolz.
YHVH. God's name is YAHVAH and Jesus is YAHVAHSHUA.
ОтветитьWe aren’t as Jews allowed or worthy enough to use his actual name
ОтветитьIf saying His name is likely to cause that, does that mean that Mr Edogawa is low-key one of the most powerful humans in the entire MegaTen franchise? After all, he chanted it twice in Persona 3 and he's clearly doing okay two years later in P4.
ОтветитьI like the evie interpretation
ОтветитьI was literally tripping when that happend, I didn't know what was happening 😂
ОтветитьYHVH has never had a pronounciation, it's intentionally impossible to say as every letter is silent
ОтветитьNot pronouncing the Tetragrammaton because it is too holy is a custom that came to be pretty much after the Babylonian exile during The Second Temple Period when only the High Priest would say it , it is said that there is even evidence that Israelites from Moses all the way to the last kings of Judah pronounced it, Rabbinic Jews reaffirmed the tradition in the Talmud, but it is not originally biblical and that’s why Christians eventually began to allow the Tetragrammaton
ОтветитьMy personal opinion on "why do people not say his name" in real life is specifically on the fears of it. I don't think it's "you may invoke his name in vain" because people in real life in modern times are already told that if they use the names God or even Jesus in vain. If that's NOT either name of God, why are they so worried? Not to mention how many times do normal humans say "oh my God" or "Jesus Christ" when they're freaked out about something, clearly neither of those names results in a Zeus level sniper rifle aimed at their dome. When you say "don't take the Lord's name in vain" that instruction should be directed at God's TRUE names, not the modern English word for it.
Someone else said it's likely how you don't WANT His attention on you. And I would very much agree, you don't want a guy that's a Creation being directly looking at you. Ever. Don't give him a reason to Mind Crush you at the very least or pull an SMT 2 and eternally curse your soul at worst.
As for SMT, I just think it's neat how it's meant to be unpronounceable. Even if you can sometimes hear the record scratch screw up and you can clearly hear one or two people about to say ""Yahweh." The voice actors needed SOMETHING to make their dialogue actually flow, so I can't blame those editing flubs for existing.
Oh and as a separate comment, MarshSMT really makes this conversation so much more interesting at that with his complete coverage on the Last Bible games.
It's a bit of a common thread for the protagonist of that game to utter a spell that's a fancy way of saying "I think therefore I am. "
Those protagonists, in a series called Last BIBLE, are also denying God's power, by equally declaring that power is THEIRS. And unlike YHVH in SMT, whenever they do that, they really ARE usurping his power.
But, if they don't say his name out of fear of punishment - why would they still refuse to say his name after destroying him? Doesn't really line up.
