🔗 Ethernet cables consist of eight conductors grouped into four pairs: orange, green, blue, and brown. Typically, pairs two and three are used for data transmission.

🔌 RJ45 connectors are commonly used to terminate Ethernet cables, featuring eight pins that align with the conductors in the cable. Standards like T568A and T568B dictate the pinout arrangement.

🔄 Straight-through cables connect devices with similar pinouts, such as computers to switches, ensuring that transmit and receive pins align correctly.

🔄 Crossover cables connect devices with different pinouts, such as computers to computers or switches to switches, allowing transmit and receive pins to cross over for communication.

🔄 Rollover cables, while not standard Ethernet cables, are used for console connections between devices, with pinouts rolled over from one end to the other.
